Process for the preparation of crosslinked poly- beta -alanine in the form of microspheres. <??>This process comprises the stages consisting: a) in polymerising acrylamide in the tert-butanol/toluene solvent mixture in the presence of a polymerisation initiator and of an octadecene-maleic anhydride copolymer as dispersing agent, b) in subjecting the poly- beta -alanine suspension obtained to crosslinking with the aid of a dialdehyde as crosslinking agent, and c) in isolating the microspheres of crosslinked poly- beta -alanine. <??>The microspheres obtained exhibit a narrow size scatter.
