Um das zu verhüten, werden gemäß der Erfindung in die Längsbelagleisten b, bi an beiden Ma-chinenseiten Schutzstücke f aus Metall einge-etzt, vorteilhaft in die äußeren Leisten b je zwei, in die Mittelleiste oder -leisten b1 je ein Stück, wie Fig. 2 zeigt. Zum Anbringen der Schutzstücke werden Nuten in die Belagleisten eingestemmt; die einge'.egten Stücke klemmen sich durch Quellen des Holzes fest, so daß sie keiner weiteren Befestigung bedürfen. Zum Abrichten des Belags werden die Schutzstücke vorher herausgenommen und nach Tieferstemmen der Nuten wieder eingesetzt; ihre Länge bestimmt sich danach, wie weit das Maschinensieb hinüber und herüber verlaufen kann. Die Oberkante der metallenen Schutzstücke f muß in der: elben Ebene wie die Oberkante der hölzernen Belagleisten b, b1 liegen.
