Description
AUSGEGEBEN AIH 11. DEZEMBER 1919ISSUED AIH DECEMBER 11, 1919
Metallegierungen.Metal alloys.
It is known to produce double metals, e.g., iron-copper, in such a way that one Metal core (e.g. made of iron) a thin metallic intermediate layer that promotes welding applies, whereupon the prepared metal core in a neutral or reducing The liquid second metal (e.g. copper) is poured into the atmosphere. To A known method, this intermediate layer is formed in such a way that one the metal core (iron) is heated and then in a superheated molten bath made of another metal (copper or the like) is immersed.
The liquid metal penetrates the outer Parts of the core and alloys with the metal of the core.
Diesem bekannten Verfahren haftet zunächst der Nachteil an, daß das überhitzte Metallbad durch die dauernde Berührung mitThis known method has the disadvantage that it is overheated Metal bath from constant contact with
Es kommt hinzu, daß die zu starke Zwischenschicht erhebliche Mengen Eisen aus dem Kern aufnimmt, welches in das Umgußmetall übergeht und dessen Eigenschaften verändert, insbesondere seine Leitfähigkeit erheblich vermindert.ao the heated metal cores immersed one after the other during manufacture by absorption is contaminated by iron and suffers from constant overheating. Further the mechanical properties of the iron core are made by the treatment in the overheated The copper bath is impaired, which also reduces the strength of the finished double metal and loss of elongation. Another disadvantage of the immersion process is that the Interlayer uneven and too strong, as a result of the subsequent mechanical Stress from rolling, pulling, pressing and the like becomes brittle and so the detachment of the two metals forming the double metal. In addition, the too strong an intermediate layer absorbs considerable amounts of iron from the core, which in the Umgußmetall passes and changes its properties, especially its conductivity considerably reduced.
Auch ermöglichtAccording to the present invention, which is a new and effective combination of different, In some cases, measures that have already been applied in similar procedures will be discussed first the above-mentioned inconveniences avoided by the fact that the intermediate layer at normal temperature and only mechanically adhesive, e.g. B. on galvanic AVege, by spraying, rubbing, rolling, mounting etc. applies and subsequently by heating the welding and alloying with the metal core causes. This process ensures that the alloy belt process dominated in time and space, that is, has it in hand, the same thing only so far than just to achieve a good weld · and alloy is required in that the coating can be heated for any length of time and at any desired temperature. Also enables
das Verfahren, im Gegensatz zu dem obenerwähnten EjintauchyeKfa,hr^n, die Legierungsschicht außerordentlich dünn_zu halten, was außer - de:ii.'Er'SpäfaSl='!aliiüMf'zugmetall, im Falle dieses aus einem wertvolleren Metall besteht als das Umgußmetall, besonders den Vorteil bringt, daß die Menge.des in die Legierungsschicht aufgenommenen Kernmetalles entsprechend gering bleibt und daß infolge dessen auch in das Umgußmetall nur verschwindend geringe Mengen verunreinigenden Metalles hineinkommen können.the method, in contrast to the above-mentioned EjintauchyeKfa, hr ^ n, to keep the alloy layer extremely thin, which except - de : ii.'Er'SpäfaSl = '! aliiüMf'zugmetall, in the case of this consists of a more valuable metal than the casting metal, has the particular advantage that the amount of core metal absorbed into the alloy layer remains correspondingly small and that, as a result, only negligibly small amounts of contaminating metal can get into the encapsulated metal.
Es sind zwar auch Verfahren bekannt, gemäß denen die Zwischenschicht auf anderemAlthough there are also known methods according to which the intermediate layer on other
So should according to one method, the intermediate metal is fixed by pressing at a higher temperature whereupon the overlay metal is applied in the same way. In contrast according to the invention, this is done mechanically beforehand at an ordinary temperature applied intermediate metal is only subsequently heated and then with the overlay metal encapsulated. According to another known method, one with a thin Electrolytic copper plated steel plate annealed and under strong hydraulic Pressure are pressed, after which the copper-plated plate with a silver plate is covered and pressed hard when it is red heat. The silver plating can be applied to the copper-plated Steel plate can also be poured on, after which it is subjected to heating and pressing will. The new process differs from this in that the overlay metal, z. B. copper, on the iron body provided with the intermediate layer at welding temperature and is poured protected against oxidation, so that before the mechanical After treatment, an intimate welding has already occurred.
While with the usual double metals only relatively 1 weak editions (for example 5 or 10 percent of the base metal) the connection is fixed by mechanical post-treatment, such as rolling and the like, the different extensibility of the metals to be united threatens with heavy editions (for example 30 up to 50 percent) to tear the metals apart during rolling. For this reason, such an intimate bond must be achieved in the cast block that the metals can no longer be loosened by the rolling process. However, this is only possible with a procedure as prescribed by the present invention. It alone makes it possible, among other things, to manufacture guide strips for floors where a copper layer thickness of 40 to 70 percent is required, for example, from double metals. The use of nickel as an intermediate layer metal in the production of double metals in which the core consists of iron offers particular advantages in the new process. When using nickel as an intermediate layer in connection with the present process, it is possible to reduce the thickness of the intermediate layer to an unusually low level. According to the present process, completely welded and alloyed nickel intermediate layers of 0.0005 to 0.001 mm could be produced with the iron. It is clear that with such thin skins the amount of iron absorbed and that of the nickel itself is so small that its properties, in particular its conductivity, cannot be noticeably changed when they are absorbed into the encapsulated copper.
■It is to be emphasized as a special effect of the present invention that the Welding and alloying of intermediate layers of metals, such as nickel and Cobalt have a higher melting point than the metal body (iron) to be provided with it, is made possible in the first place. Because with "the above-mentioned immersion process would have to the iron body dissolve in the overheated Nikkelbacl. ■
