DieThe invention relates to drive belts and belts, which consist of several superimposed, layers woven together. In such drive belts and belts was previously one and the same weft thread inserted between the warp threads of the individual layers by a single shuttle in succession was passed through each of the compartments of the warp threads of the individual layers. the
ίο einzelnen Lagen wurden unter sich verbunden durch. diesen gemeinsamen Schußfaden und durch Kettenfäden, die von einer Lage in dieίο individual layers were connected to each other by. this common weft thread and by warp threads that go from one layer to the
. andere durchbinden oder durch sämtliche Lagen hindurch tr et en.. tie others through or through all layers step through.
Fig. Ι of the drawing illustrates in a schematic way a cross section through an old type woven drive belt or 'belt, which consists of six layers a, b, c, d, e, f and shows how these six layers through the passing chain threads g and the common weft thread h are connected to one another. Fig. 2 is the same cross-section, but in this the connecting warp threads g are omitted, on the other hand the warp threads of the individual layers are drawn in cross-section and indicated how the common weft thread h passes through the different layers one after the other. The drive belts and belts are according to the invention characterized in that there is no weft thread going through all layers, but that a special weft is entered for each layer. Fig. 3, as the cross section corresponding to Fig. 1, shows that the six layers are connected to one another only by the warp threads g passing through, and Fig. 4 (corresponding to Fig. 2) shows that each layer has a special weft thread h owns. '. ,. From this it follows that a special shuttle must be provided for each individual layer, and by being able to move all the shooters at the same time, i.e. entering the wefts in all layers at the same time, instead of having a single shooter sweep through all the fans one after the other as was previously the case achieved according to the invention a multiple of production compared to earlier.
The connection to an endless belt takes place in the manner explained by FIGS. 5 and 6. The ends to be connected are first prepared according to Fig. 5 in such a way that the connecting box threads between the individual layers a, b, c, d, e, f are cut over a certain length and the layer ends that are now free are cut off alternately with one another and opposite one another, that one can bring the protruding layer ends of one side into the gaps on the other side created by cutting off the opposite layer ends and then connecting these overlapping ends by sewing, gluing, stapling or screws, etc. Fig. 6 shows the completed connection, which is not possible in this way with a belt or belt woven in the old fashion (ie with a weft continuous through all layers), but only here where each layer is self-contained and only connect them - : the warp threads are cut.
