Abstract

1. Espagnolette lock for a window, a door, a French window or the like, with alternate returns of the handle in resting position, comprising a return device (3) essentially composed of a door-knob hole piece (4) actuated by the handle and an elastic element (42) co-operating, on the one hand, with a motionless element of the espagnolette lock and, on the other hand, directly or indirectly with the door-knob hole piece (4), characterized in that the elastic element (42) is inserted, on the one hand, between two motionless elements (43, 44) and (45, 46) of the espagnolette lock and, on the other hand, between two stops (19, 20) whose the shifting is driven by the door-knob hole piece (4), one of the sides of the elastic element (42) co-operating, in a first step, with one of the stops (19) or (20), while the other side co-operates with the motionless elemnt (43, 44) or (45, 46), when, in a second step, the co-operation takes place in the opposite direction.
