Es sind bereits Konservenglasöffner bekannt, bei denen mit Hilfe einer am Glasrande oder am Deckel selbst angesetzten Schraubenspindel ein Keil zwischen Glas und Deckel getrieben wird, der, auf der Schraubenspindel verschiebbar, durch eine auf ihr drehbare Mutter bewegt wird. Diese Öffner eignen sich ausschließlich für solche Konservengläser, bei denen zwischen Deckel und Glas ein besonderer Dichtungsring angeordnet ist, so daß der durch ihn gebildete Abstand zwischen der Dichtfläche des Glases und dem Deckel den Eintritt des Keiles gestattet. Brüche von Glas- und Deckelrand und noch mehr Be-Schädigungen der Dichtflächen von Glasrand und Deckel sind bei ihrer Anwendung unvermeidlich. Für Konservengläser mit planaufgeschliffenem, besonderer Dichtungsringe nicht bedürfendem Deckel sind zwischen die Dichtflächen greifende öffnerkeile nicht verwendbar,weil sie nicht zwischen die Dichtungsflächen zu treten vermögen und weil, selbst wenn das der Fall wäre, die geringste Beschädigung der Dichtfläche, die hierbei ganz unvermeidlich sein würde, das Glas unbrauchbar macht.There are already jar openers known in which with the help of one on the edge of the glass or A wedge is driven between the glass and the lid on the screw spindle attached to the lid itself which, slidable on the screw spindle, is moved by a nut rotatable on it.
