Description
It is known that wood-containing materials, especially the various types of straw, through Treatment with alkalis and acids in the heat can be made more digestible.
This decomposition can be effected both under normal and overpressure. So far, this known method has only been used on a larger scale Alkali (caustic soda) have been carried out, cf.
ίο Paten^i2866i.ίο godparents ^ i2866i.
The unpleasant, lye-like taste, which makes it difficult to feed, is caused by Use of pressure is reduced because it is organic, neutralizing the alkali Form acids. When using no more than 4 percent caustic soda, it even happens that the feed has a weakly acidic reaction assumes, but it has emerged that the implementation is not certain to be neutral Can guide the reaction of the product.
There are also types of straw, such as B. winter rye straw, 4 percent for its breakdown Caustic soda is not enough, so that depending on the digestibility that one wants to achieve, 6 percent or more caustic soda must be used. With this higher addition then forms the alkaline one in the end product Reaction and thus the harmful taste are the norm. The present invention accomplishes the new realization that it is possible even with the addition of soda 8 to 10 percent work, its use in the interests of increased unlocking of the Starting material appears desirable without affecting the taste of the end product it becomes such that the use of it as fodder is somehow impaired, if one considers the formation of organic acids by the addition of oxygen during the digestion increases. In this way it is possible to obtain a neutral to slightly acidic reacting, pleasantly tasting animal feed. the The oxygen can be supplied in such a way that it enters the pressure vessel towards the end atmospheric air is forced into the reaction. It is also possible to do the same Achieving this purpose by releasing oxygen which is harmless for nutrition Substances such as sodium peroxide. Potash nitrate and the like added. Oxygen carriers, such as Iron and manganese salts can serve to accelerate the formation of acids or to strengthen.
Of course, you can also use several of the aforementioned acid-promoting auxiliaries use at the same time.
Die Wirkung des Verfahrens erhellt aus folgenden Vergleichsversuchen:The effect of the process is evident from the following comparative tests:
100 g Stroh wurden ausgelaugt; der Extrakt, mit Säure titriert, verbrauchte zur Neutralisierung 14 ecm Schwefelsäure halb normal.1. 3 quintals of straw were mixed with 600 liters of water, in which 18 kg, i.e. (on Straw calculated) 6 percent caustic soda was dissolved under pressure of 6 atmospheres Steamed for 8 hours. The product was alkaline. 100 g of straw were leached; the extract, titrated with acid, half consumed 14 ecm of sulfuric acid for neutralization normal.
Das Extrakt aus 100 g Stroh verbrauchte 12 ecm Barytwasser ein Fünftel normal.2. 3 quintals of straw were treated in the same way, but with compression of air in the last 2 hours of the cooking process. The product was acidic. The extract from 100 g straw consumed 12 ecm of barite water one fifth normally.
3. Derselbe Versuch wird unter sonst gleichen3. The same attempt is made with otherwise the same
