Description
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine weitere Ausgestaltung des Gegenstandes des Patents 306405, nämlich eines Geschosses, bei welchem die Seitenflächen des nutartigen Dralleinschnittes mit Metallstreifen geringerer Härte versehen sind, welche zur Schonung des Geschützrohres dienen. Es hat sich nun herausgestellt, daß es besonders vorteilhaft ist, diese seitliche Metallauflage nicht auf die gesamte Höhe des Dralleinschnittes durchgehen zu lassen, sondern den Weichmetallstreifen kürzer zu machen, als der Dralleinschnitt hoch ist, so daß das härtere Material des Dralleinschnittes das Weichmetall überragt. Diese Anordnung hat einmal den Vorteil, daß dadurch ein wesentlich festerer Sitz der Weichmetalleinlage erzielt wird. Dann soll aber auch ein unbeabsichtigtes Verquetschen des Weichmetalls vermieden werden, so daß bei der Explosion der Ladung die Gase nicht zwischen Weichmetall und Geschützrohr hindurchdringen können. Durch die über das Weichmetall hinausragende Nase aus Hartmetall wird ein explosionssicherer Abschluß des Explosionsraumes gewährleistet. Infolgedessen sollen derartige Geschosse eine wesentlich größere Flugweite erreichen, und zwar bei gleicher Explosionsladung. Die Nase kann auch mit besonderem Vorteil am unteren Ende des Geschosses angebracht werden. In diesem Falle bietet die übergreifende Nase e den Vorteil, daß die heißen Explosionsgase nicht mit dem Weichmetallbelag in Berührung kommen, so daß auch leicht schmelzbare Weichmetalle Verwendung rinden können. Auf der Zeichnung ist die Anordnung in der Draufsicht dargestellt, α bedeutet das Geschoß; b ist das Führungsband, c der nutartige Dralleinschnitt, d ein Streifen Weichmetall, etwa aus Kupfer, Messing, Zink, der aufgelötet, aufgeschweißt oder noch besser eingestemmt ist. An Stelle von Weichmetall kann auch eine Papier-, Holz- oder Horneinlage Verwendung finden.
