Die zu desinficirenden Gegenstände werden in den Kasten α eingeschlossen, und zwar Briefe u. s. w. in der Weise, dafs man sie stapelweise zwischen Klammern b, Fig. 2, einklemmt und die letzteren dann an Stäben c, welche an den Kastenwandungen befestigt werden, aufhängt, während die Bücher mit dem Rücken nach oben in aus einander gespreizter Stellung mit den Deckeln auf die Zahnstangen d, Fig. 1, gestellt werden. Diese sind mittelst Scharniere an den Kastenwänden befestigt und können z. Zu diesem Zwecke befindet sich unterhalb der Pfanne eine Lampe k, welche die zum Brennen nöthige Luft durch das Rohr i aus dem Kasten α erhält.
