Ausgängsmaterial kieselsäure- und quarzhaltige Stoffe, welche keine Flußmittel enthalten, verwendet. Von den verschiedenen Arten eignet sich insbesondere die sog. Neuburger Kieselkreide sowie fein gemahlener, gerösteter Neuroder Schiefertön für den genannten Zweck. Würden die erwähnten Stoffe nun mit kalkhaltigen Bindemitteln (Kalkmehl o. dgl.) versetzt und in der erwähnten Weise unter Dampfdruck erhärtet werden, so würden die so hergestellten Produkte jedoch hohen Temperaturen nicht standhalten, die Kreide p. dgl. würde hierbei arbeiten, die Produkte' würden anschwellen und sich verziehen. Um dies, zu verhindern, setzt man der Mischung etwas grob gemahlenen, gebrannten Ton (Schamotte) zu, der eventuell aus Abfallprodukten erhalten werden kann. So kann man z. B. auf ι Teil Kreide etwa V4 gebrannten Ton (Schamotte) nehmen. Die auf diese Weise unter V Anwendung des oben angegebenen Verfahrens hergestellten feuerfesten Produkte können hohe 4.0 Hitzegrade aushalten, ohne zu schmelzen, ohne sich zu verziehen, reißen bei Temperaturwechsel nicht, sind widerstandsfähig gegen in Feuerungsanlagen sich entwickelnde Gase und Dämpfe und besitzen einen hohen Grad von Druckfestigkeit.In-depth experiments have now shown that with the help of the process just identified, refractory products of all kinds, such as stones, plates, vessels, capsules, etc., with better properties in different directions can be produced if one as.
