Fahrzeugantenne, Außenspiegel und Fahrzeug Stand der Technik Vehicle antenna, exterior mirrors and vehicle state of the art
The invention is based on a vehicle antenna, an exterior mirror and a vehicle according to the preamble of the independent claims.
The Bosch GSM antenna KFA 939 is already known, which is a vehicle antenna with an antenna base that supports the vehicle antennas and can be mounted on the roof of a motor vehicle.
Furthermore, exterior mirrors of motor vehicles are known which comprise a mirror base body which carries an exterior mirror housing.
Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention
Auf diese Weise läßt sichThe vehicle antenna according to the invention and the exterior mirror according to the invention with the features of the corresponding independent claims have the advantage that the antenna base can be attached to a holding device in an exterior mirror housing of a vehicle, so that the vehicle antenna protrudes from an opening in the exterior mirror housing. In this way,
R. 37293R.37293
Attach a vehicle antenna to the outside mirror, so that roof mounting of the vehicle antenna is not necessary. This means that no hole in the roof is required to attach the vehicle antenna to the vehicle roof, although such a hole in the roof often represents a source of corrosion. However, the outside mirror housing is usually made of plastic, so an opening in the outside mirror housing does not represent a source of corrosion.
A further advantage is that, compared to roof mounting of the vehicle antenna, when mounted on the exterior mirror, less wind noise caused by the vehicle antenna is transmitted to the interior of the vehicle when driving, since the exterior mirror is not part of the vehicle body.
By means of the measures listed in the subclaims, advantageous further developments and improvements of the vehicle antenna and the exterior mirror are possible in accordance with the corresponding independent claims.
It is particularly advantageous that the holding device comprises a tubular elevation of a mirror base body which serves to hold the exterior mirror housing, that the antenna base can be fastened to a first end of the tubular elevation and that an antenna rod of the vehicle antenna can be screwed to the antenna base, with the antenna rod protruding from the opening of the exterior mirror housing. In this way, the mirror base body can be used not only to hold the exterior mirror housing but also to hold the vehicle antenna, so that its functionality is increased and no separate base body is required to hold the vehicle antenna.
R. 37293R.37293
Another advantage is that the antenna base is connected in one piece to the tubular elevation. This makes it much easier to install the antenna base or the vehicle antenna on the vehicle's exterior mirror, and no separate work step is required to attach the antenna base to the tubular elevation, as the attachment is carried out during the manufacture of the tubular elevation, for example in a casting process. A separate antenna base is therefore not required.
A further advantage is that the antenna base can be guided through the tubular elevation so that it protrudes from the tubular elevation at the first end of the tubular elevation, and that the antenna base can be fastened to the first end of the tubular elevation, in particular by means of a screw connection. In this way, it is possible to fasten a conventional vehicle antenna, which is intended for mounting on a vehicle roof via its own antenna base, to a conventional exterior mirror with a conventional tubular elevation of the mirror base in a corresponding manner using this antenna base.
A further advantage is that the antenna base can be screwed to the antenna rod via at least one extension piece. This allows for the fact that the first end of the tubular elevation is usually so far away from the antenna housing that the thread length of the antenna rod is not sufficient to screw the antenna rod to the antenna base arranged at the first end of the tubular elevation.
R. 37293R.37293
Another advantage is that a molded piece can be inserted between the antenna rod and the exterior mirror housing to seal the opening of the exterior mirror housing when the antenna rod is screwed in and to stabilize the screwed-in antenna rod in a predetermined position on the exterior mirror housing. In this way, the interior of the exterior mirror housing with the mirror base, the tubular elevation and the attachment of the vehicle antenna is protected from the effects of the weather, dirt and damage.
A further advantage is that the tubular elevation has a side outlet through which an antenna conductor of the vehicle antenna can be connected to a further antenna cable. In this way, a simple and easily accessible antenna cable connection can be achieved.
In this way, for example, an existing opening in the vehicle body can be used to feed a cable for mirror adjustment and/or a cable for mirror heating for the
30The antenna cable can also be routed through the vehicle so that no further opening or drilling in the vehicle body is required and further sources of corrosion are thus excluded.

Beschreibung der AusführungsbeispieleDescription of the embodiments
Der Spiegelgrundkörper 30 umfaßt im Inneren desIn Figure 1, 20 designates a vehicle, for example a motor vehicle in the form of a car or a truck. The vehicle 20 comprises a vehicle body 80 to which a mirror base body 30 is attached by means of a screw connection in an area 85 on the side of the vehicle body 80 facing away from the interior of the vehicle. The mirror base body 30 carries an outside mirror housing 15 and a mirror adjustment plate 95, which can be operated by motors and serves as a holder for a mirror glass. The mirror glass can be adjusted in its inclination according to the needs of the driver by means of the mirror adjustment plate 95. The motors or actuators for the mirror adjustment plate 95 are also carried by the mirror base body 30 and are controlled by electrical control signals. The control signals are fed to the motors or actuators via a corresponding control cable, which is not shown in Figure 1 for reasons of clarity and which is fed through an opening 75 in the vehicle body in the area 85 for fastening the mirror base body 30 to the vehicle body 80. This opening 75 can now also be used to lead an antenna cable 70 from the interior of the vehicle 20 into the interior of the outside mirror housing 15. The motors and actuators of the mirror adjustment plate 95 are also not shown in Figure 1 for reasons of clarity. The mirror base body 30 comprises inside the

Outside mirror housing 15 has a tubular elevation 25 which represents a holding device 10 for a vehicle antenna 1. The tubular elevation 25 comprises a lateral outlet 60 which is closed off on a lateral outer wall 105 of the tubular elevation 25 by an antenna cable connection 100. The antenna cable 70 is then connected to the antenna cable connection 100 via a mating connector 110. In order to achieve a stable and defined connection of the antenna cable 70 to the antenna cable connection 100, the antenna cable connection 100 comprises an external thread and the mating connector 110 comprises a nut with an internal thread which is screwed to the external thread of the antenna cable connection 100 in a force-fitting manner. The antenna cable 70 is fed inside the motor vehicle 20 to a transmitting and/or receiving device for signals to be emitted and/or received by means of the vehicle antenna 1.
Der übrigeThe tubular elevation 25 comprises a tube 120 which is open both at a first end 35 of the tubular elevation 25 and at a second end 115 of the tubular elevation 25, which is opposite the first end 35. However, the opening of the tubular elevation 25 at the first end 35 is smaller than the opening of the tubular elevation 25 at the second end 115. An antenna base 5 of the vehicle antenna 1 can now be attached to the tubular elevation 25 at the first end 35. To do this, the antenna base 5 is inserted through the opening at the second end 115 into the tubular elevation 25 and guided into the tube 120 as far as the opening at the first end 35. The antenna base 5 comprises a counter bearing 125, the diameter of which is slightly smaller than the diameter of the tube 120 and the opening at the second end 115 and slightly larger than the diameter of the opening at the first end 35. The antenna base 5 is thus locked to the opening of the first end 35 by the counter bearing 125. The remaining

SomitPart of the antenna base 5 has an outer diameter which approximately corresponds to the diameter of the opening at the first end 35 or is slightly smaller, so that this part of the antenna base at the first end 35 of the tubular elevation 25 protrudes from the tubular elevation 25. This protruding part of the antenna base 5 can be provided with an external thread. A lock nut 130 is screwed onto this external thread so that the antenna base 5 is fastened to the tubular elevation 25 in a force-fitting and form-fitting manner. On the side facing away from the first end 35, the antenna base 5 is screwed to an extension piece 50 which can be made of brass, for example, and which is screwed to an antenna rod 40 of the vehicle antenna 1 on its side facing away from the antenna base 5. The antenna rod 40 protrudes from an opening 45 in the exterior mirror housing 15. The antenna rod 40 is screwed to the antenna base 5 in a force-fitting and form-fitting manner via the extension piece 50, so that the antenna base 5 carries the antenna rod 40 and thus the vehicle antenna 1. The antenna base 5 is in turn carried by the tubular elevation 25 and thus by the mirror base body 30, which is mounted on the vehicle body 80 as described. Since the exterior mirror housing 15 is curved on its surface as shown in Figure 3, the opening 45 of the exterior mirror housing 15 is not completely covered when the antenna rod 40 is screwed into the extension piece 50. In addition, the antenna rod 40 does not rest completely on the exterior mirror housing 15. Therefore, according to Figure 3, it can be provided to insert a molded piece 55 between the antenna rod 40 and the exterior mirror housing 15 in the area of the opening 45 of the exterior mirror housing 15 in order to seal this opening 45 of the exterior mirror housing 15 when the antenna rod 40 is screwed in and to stabilize the screwed-in antenna rod 40 in a predetermined position on the exterior mirror housing 15. Thus

wird der Innenraum des Außenspiegelgehauses 15 vor Witterungseinflüssen und eindringendem Schmutz sowie vor Beschädigungen geschützt.the interior of the exterior mirror housing 15 is protected from the effects of weather and penetrating dirt as well as from damage.
An antenna conductor 65 of the vehicle antenna 1 is fed from the antenna rod 40 via the extension piece 50, the antenna base 5, the tube 120 and the side outlet 60 to the antenna cable connection 100.
The mirror base body 30, the mirror adjustment plate 95, the exterior mirror housing 15, the vehicle antenna 1 and the mirror glass, which is not shown in Figure 1, form an exterior mirror 90 of the vehicle 20.
Figure 2 shows a second embodiment of a vehicle antenna 1 according to the invention or of an exterior mirror 90 according to the invention. The same reference numerals identify the same elements as in Figure 1. The vehicle antenna 1 or the exterior mirror 90 in the second embodiment according to Figure 2 are constructed in exactly the same way as described in the first embodiment according to Figure 1, with the difference that the antenna base 5 is connected in one piece to the tubular elevation 25, so that no screw connection is required for fastening the antenna base 5 to the tubular elevation 25. Furthermore, in the second embodiment according to Figure 2, the tubular elevation 25 extends closer to the opening 45 of the exterior mirror housing 15, so that no extension piece 50 is required and the antenna rod 40 is screwed directly to the antenna base 5 in a form-fitting and force-fitting manner.
Gemäß einer dritten Ausführungsform, die in den Figuren nicht dargestellt ist, kann es auch vorgesehen sein, daßAccording to a third embodiment, which is not shown in the figures, it can also be provided that
R. 37293R.37293
Starting from the first embodiment according to Figure 1, the tubular elevation 25 extends closer to the opening 45 of the exterior mirror housing 15, so that the extension piece 50 is also not required, but the antenna base 5 is still screwed to the tubular elevation 25.
In a fourth embodiment, which is also not shown in the figures, it can be provided, starting from the second embodiment according to Figure 2, that the tubular elevation 25 is further away from the opening 45 of the exterior mirror housing 15, so that the extension piece 50 must be screwed in between the antenna base 5 and the antenna rod 40, as was described with regard to the first embodiment. However, in this fourth embodiment, the antenna base 5 is still connected in one piece to the tubular elevation 25.
If the tubular elevation 25 or the first end 35 is even further away from the opening 45 of the exterior mirror housing 15, as shown in Figure 1, it may be necessary, regardless of the type of attachment of the antenna base 5 to the tubular elevation 25, to screw several extension pieces 50 or an extension piece with a correspondingly adapted size between the antenna base 5 and the antenna rod 40 in order to realize a positive and non-positive connection of the antenna rod 40 to the antenna base 5.
Der Spiegelgrundkörper 30 kann aus Gußeisen gebildet sein. The mirror base body 30 can be made of cast iron.
A cable for an outside mirror heating can also be led through the opening 75 of the vehicle body 80. The opening 75 can be sealed with a

Seal made of rubber or plastic, for example.
The connection between the antenna cable connection 100 and the mating connector 110 can be designed as a standardized SAP antenna screw connection. The vehicle antenna 1 can be used, for example, to send and/or receive radio signals in a mobile radio network, for example according to the GSM standard (Global System for Mobile Communications) or according to the UMTS standard (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System). However, the vehicle antenna 1 can also be used, for example, to receive radio signals.
If no antenna is to be mounted on the vehicle roof, the vehicle antenna 1 mounted on the exterior mirror 90 according to the invention can be used to send and receive mobile radio signals, whereas broadcast signals can be received by a window antenna of the vehicle 20. Since there is currently no combination antenna for mobile radio and digital radio, for example according to the DAB standard (Digital Audio Broadcasting), the antenna for receiving digital radio signals could be mounted on the vehicle roof, whereas the vehicle antenna 1 mounted on the exterior mirror 90 could be used for mobile radio. In this way, at least one hole in the vehicle roof for the mobile radio antenna is saved.
In general, the invention provides the possibility of attaching a vehicle antenna 1 to the exterior mirror 90, wherein the antenna base 5, which carries the vehicle antenna 1, can be fastened to the holding device 10 in the exterior mirror housing 15 of the vehicle 20, so that the vehicle antenna 1 protrudes from the opening 4 5 of the exterior mirror housing 15.
