Innerhalb des Kapitels sind Verzweigungen in Unterkapitel zur näheren Spezifizierung der Art oder der Körperstelle der Verletzung zur Auffindung der entsprechenden Maßnahme vorhanden. Auf einer Seite ist entweder die Art der Verletzung oder die Körperstelle, an der die Verletzung aufgetreten ist, spezifiziert. Zu jeder der angegebenen Arten oder jeder der angegebenen Körperstellen ist ein Verweis auf die entsprechende Lasche vorhanden, so daß wie bei einem Flußdiagramm an bestimmten Stellen eine Aufspaltung erfolgt, bis man zum Ergebnis, hier zur Rettungsmaßnahme, kommt. Jede Verzweigung ist einer Seite zugeordnet, und die sich ergebenden Abläufe in jedem verzweigten Arm werden in eigenen Seiten oder Kapiteln weiter spezifiziert. Das erfindungsgemäße Erste-Hilfebuch hat Kapitel, die absteigend in der Reihenfolge der Symptome, die, im Hinblick auf den Erhalt der Vitalfuntionen, auf weniger vordringlich zu behandelnde Verletzungen hindeuten, angeordnet sind. Verweise von diesen Symptomen auf geeignete Maßnahmen sind in den Kapiteln und Unterkapiteln vorhanden. Die Verweise zu den geeigneten Maßnahmen für die vordringlich zu behandelnden Verletzungen werden von Verweisen auf Kapitel zu gegebenenfalls ebenfalls lebensbedrohenden, aber weniger vordringlich zu behandelnden Verletzungen gefolgt. Der Verweis (Pfeil und "Blutung") auf das Kapitel "Blutung" ist hier ein Verweis auf ein nachfolgendes Kapitel, so daß einige Seiten übersprungen werden. Es sind jedoch auch zahlreiche Verweise auf vorhergehende Kapitel notwendig, damit eine Wiederholung von Maßnahmen, die schon in vorhergehenden Kapiteln abgehandelt wurden, unnötig wird.
