The invention relates to a doormat.

Commercially available doormats for cleaning shoes in use before
House entrances, apartment entrances, hotel entrances, restaurant
and shops are known in a wide variety of designs.
These floor mats are made of a PVC material, for example,

The aim of the present invention is to create an advertising-effective doormat that appeals to the user of the doormat in an eye-catching and acoustic way and, for example, also draws attention to product offers so that the user of the doormat cannot avoid media access. In addition, the user of the doormat should be addressed via voice or music recordings with references to sales offers or the provision of certain services.

This object is achieved by the features specified in claims 1, 2 and 3.

According to this, the invention according to claim 1 consists in that the doormat, which has a square, rectangular or geometric shape, is provided with a plate-shaped or foil-shaped carrier with a programmable, pre-programmed or recordable voice and/or music module with a power source and with a mechanical, light-optical or pressure-controlled on and off switch or sensor, which is arranged on one of the wall surfaces of the doormat by means of the carrier or is integrated into the doormat, the arrangement of the voice and/or music module being such that the mechanical, light-optical or pressure-based control triggered by actuation or movement triggers the activation and deactivation of the voice and/or music module by playing back the voice and/or music recording.

The doormat according to claim 2 in a further embodiment of the invention consists in that the doormat, which has a square, rectangular or other geometric shape, is provided with at least one light or with a number of lights or LEDs connected to a power supply and/or a mechanical, light-optical or pressure-controlled on and off switch or sensor, the lights or LEDs being distributed over the surface of the doormat, on or around it or in the form of a rotating running light made up of a number of lights or LEDs around the periphery of the doormat or lights or LEDs being arranged in the form of lettering, motifs, company logos, numbers or the like.

A third embodiment of the invention according to claim 3 consists in that the doormat having a square, rectangular or geometric shape is provided with a plate-shaped or foil-shaped carrier or a doormat having a geometric shape is provided with a programmable, pre-programmed or talkable voice and/or music module with a power source and with a mechanical, light-optical or pressure-controlled on and off switch or sensor, which is arranged on one of the wall surfaces of the doormat by means of the carrier or is integrated into the doormat, the arrangement of the voice and/or music module being such that the mechanical, light-optical or pressure-loaded control triggered by actuation or movement triggers the activation and deactivation of the voice and/or music module by playing back the voice and/or music recording, and that the doormat is further provided with at least one light or with a number of

By arranging a voice and/or music module on or in a standard doormat, it is possible to address the doormat user with pre-programmed, e.g. product-related texts/spots etc. The doormat user is addressed acoustically by the acoustically emitted text. This makes advertising highly effective, as he cannot escape the influx of speech; however, other types of text can also be transmitted via the doormat, e.g. requests to enter the area to which the doormat is placed; requests to put your feet down can also be transmitted to the doormat user via the voice module.

This type of use of a voice and/or music module in a doormat can be used as an advertising, promotional or information carrier, whereby the doormat can also be provided with promotional information or advertising.

The voice and/or music module can be controlled via mechanical, light-optical or pressure-sensitive devices or sensors, which, for example, are activated when the doormat is stepped on or when the doormat is used.

The doormat can be activated by appropriate foot movements, with a timer stopping the sound or voice playback after a predetermined time.

The doormat user is visually addressed by the arrangement of lights or LEDs or by a rotating light. Here too, the lights are controlled when the doormat is stepped on, touched or walked past or when certain movements are made when cleaning shoes on the doormat, using an on/off switch that can be mechanically, optically or pressure-controlled, and sensors can also be used. The lights can be powered either externally, wirelessly or via a battery integrated into the doormat.

The advantage of combining a voice and/or music module with lighting provides a further advantage in that the floor mat user is addressed both acoustically and visually.

The voice module and/or music module provided in the doormat can refer to advertising or other promotional information, but other playbacks are also possible. In addition to advertising and promotional information, it is also possible to pre-program the voice module or music module with an advertising slogan. Furthermore, the voice and/or music module and also the control of the lighting can be connected to an interval switch for interrupting playback and repeating processes.

The entire electronics or parts of them can either be integrated on or in the floor mat or attached externally. For example, an additional mat containing the pressure mechanism can be placed under the floor mat.

Advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

It is particularly advantageous to design the doormat with a head-like element, which can be detachably or permanently connected to the doormat, whereby the doormat then consists of a flat cut, e.g. in the shape of an animal body with outstretched hind legs or paws, while the head-like element is adapted to the animal shape that is reproduced by the doormat cut. For example, it is possible to adapt the doormat with its head-like element to the shape of a bear or another type of animal.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, a microcomputer is additionally provided, which is connected to the on/off switch and the voice and/or music module or the lights or LEDs and controls the activation of the voice and/or music module or the lights or LEDs depending on input signals from the on/off switch. The microcomputer is integrated into the floor mat, for example, and has a memory for a language vocabulary for the voice and/or music module or for a light pattern for the lights of the LEDs. The voice and/or music module is expediently integrated into the microcomputer.

For further, additional animations that can be carried out by the doormat, at least one micromotor and at least one part that can be moved by it are arranged on the doormat, the micromotor being connected to the microcomputer.

Embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.

The doormat shown in Fig. 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8 is marked 10. This is a standard doormat made of the known materials. For example, the doormat can be made of a PVC material or a wide-ribbed needle felt. Rubber doormats can also be used, as can carpet-like doormats with high, dense velour pile. Doormats made of sisal hemp or other suitable materials can also be used, including in oversizes.

The doormat 10 has a square, rectangular or other geometric shape. The doormat sides are designated 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d.

According to Fig. 1, the doormat 10 is provided with a voice and/or music module 120, which is integrated on or under the doormat or in the doormat.

This voice and/or music module 120 is, as can be seen from Fig. 2, arranged on a plate-shaped or film-shaped carrier 110, and by means of this carrier 110 the voice and/or music module 120 is arranged on or in the doormat 10, whereby a direct arrangement of the voice and/or music module 120 on or in the doormat 10 is also possible if the housing which accommodates the voice and/or music module 120 is designed accordingly. A programmable or pre-programmed or recordable voice and/or music module 120 is used, whereby the arrangement of the voice and/or music module 120 on or in the doormat is such that the activation and deactivation of the voice and/or music module is triggered by playing the voice and/or music recording via a mechanical or light-optical control or control triggered by movement. For this purpose, an on/off switch 125 or a sensor 125' is integrated into or on the floor mat.

The programmable or pre-programmed voice and/or music module 120 with a voice or music recording is attached to the doormat 10 by means of its housing 121 (Fig. 3). This voice and/or music module 120, which is designed in a manner known per se, is connected to the mechanically or light-optically controlled on and off switch in such a way that, in the event of an external influence, the start-up of the voice or music module is triggered by playback of the voice or music recording. The voice and/or music module 120 itself consists of the housing 121 with a power source, preferably with a battery 122 (Fig. 4), whereby a direct power connection (low voltage) is also possible. It is particularly advantageous if the doormat has several on and off switches 125, whereby contact rails can also be incorporated into the doormat 10, which cause the voice and/or music module 120 to be switched on and off when pressure is applied.

The voice and/or music module 120 can be triggered using sound waves as well as using a touch keyboard. The voice and/or music module 120 can also be switched on and off in conjunction with a motion detector designed in a known manner.

The voice recording can be played back continuously or personally, using a wide variety of voice and/or music recordings. The corresponding voice and/or music recording can be pre-programmed in the module 120. However, it is also possible to enter the desired text into the module 120 yourself using a recording and playback device 150, in order to then be able to play back this voice recording when required.

In the embodiment according to Fig. 5, the doormat 10 is provided with a number of lights or LEDs 170 connected to a power supply 158 and with a mechanical, light-optical or pressure-controlled on and off switch 155 or with at least one sensor 155', the lights or LEDs 170 being distributed over the surface of the doormat 10. Instead of several lights or LEDs, only a single light or LED can be provided. It is thus possible to provide certain surface areas of the doormat 10 with a number of LEDs 170 that can be controlled in the same way as the previously described voice and/or music module 120. When the doormat is stepped on, the lights or LEDs 170 light up and over

a timer, the lights or LEDs 170 go out after a predetermined time. It is also possible to switch the lights on using a standard switch, whereby the lights can also be on all the time so that they are constantly lit, regardless of whether the doormat is stepped on. If the lights are no longer to emit light, then the lights are switched off when the switch (on and off switch) is operated, also regardless of whether the doormat is stepped on.

Instead of individual lights or LEDs 170, the doormat 10 according to the embodiment shown in Fig. 6 can be provided with a rotating running light 160, which consists of a number of lights or LEDs 165 and is arranged, for example, on the periphery of the doormat 10. Instead of a running light 160, a running arrow 180 (Fig. 5) can also be provided on the doormat, which, for example, gives the doormat user visual instructions on a very specific direction to follow, whereby the doormat itself can be provided with corresponding printed instructions, which are received by the doormat user in conjunction with the running arrow 180. Any type of lighting and any arrangement of lighting is possible. For example, only the word "emergency exit" can light up on the mat in any size, or a logo, motif, company emblem, lettering, number or similar, or an image can light up, or only a rectangular bar. It is also possible for only one lamp to be arranged in, on or under the mat or integrated into it, which lights up so that the steps behind it can be recognized, for example if the mat is arranged in front of the lowest step of a staircase or in front of a step in general.

Fig. 9 shows a circuit for such a running arrow 180. This running light 180 consists of a number of rectangular LEDs arranged in the shape of an arrow. The circuit is constructed with only one IC, which however contains six inverters. Each inverter is connected to an RC network at the output. The inverter output must therefore first charge a capacitor via the resistor before the next inverter can be controlled. This circuit controls the LEDs step by step. The IC is designed in such a way that it can control the LEDs without any problems. The entire circuit only needs about 50 mA, for example, and can therefore be operated without any problems with a 9 V battery. Instead of a running light arrow 180, the individual LEDs can also be used in the shape of hearts, stars or the like.

For example, the circuit shown in Fig. 10 can be used for the running light 160 arranged on the floor mat 10 as shown in Fig. 6. This running light 160 consists of a corresponding number of LEDs depending on the size of the floor mat 10. In the circuit example, for example, eight LEDs are connected to the Q and Q outputs of four data flip-flops. Four LEDs are therefore always lit, the others are off.

If the control commands at the information inputs of the flip-flops change, the lights on the LEDs connected to the outputs go out. The flip-flops are controlled in such a way that when the light state changes from one "constellation of four" to the next, a very nice wandering effect is created. With reference to the circuit according to Fig. 10, the circuit is started with S1. When the

This switch must be in position 1 for the supply voltage; a "1" is then sent to the data input of the first flip-flop. The switch remains in position 1 until the "1" entered at the beginning has run through the entire chain; then the switch is moved to position 2. The Q output of the last flip-flop is then connected to the data input of the first flip-flop. The further cycles now run automatically. The charging and discharging time of the capacitor C1 is decisive for the frequency of the control pulses. Since both times depend on the resistance value in the base circuit (P1 and R10), the frequency of the control pulses and thus the running light frequency can be set with 1. The eight LEDs emit relatively little light, which is why the circuit in the specified version is suitable for home use, for example. If the LEDs are replaced by optocouplers, other lights, such as small light bulbs, can be controlled using suitable power levels. In addition to lights, light-emitting diodes 170 and the running light 160 with white light emission, these can also be designed in such a way that colored light is emitted. In addition, all of the light sources can be arranged at any point on or in the floor mat 10.

The embodiment in which the doormat 10 is provided with a voice and/or music module 120 and with lights or LEDs 170 or a running light 160 is not shown in the drawing, but such a doormat 10 results from the combination according to Fig. 1 with the previous description thereof and Fig. 5 with the corresponding description thereof.

In the embodiment according to Fig. 7, the floor mat 10 is preferably designed on one of its narrow sides so that the foot

mat turns into a two- or three-dimensional head-like element 20, such as an animal head. This head-like element 20 can, for example, form the head of a bear as shown. This head-like element 20 is fixedly or detachably connected to the doormat 10. In the case of the doormat 10 provided with an animal head according to Fig. 7, the doormat is, for example, provided with a moving light arrow 180. However, the doormat can be provided in the same way with a voice and/or music module 120 and/or with lights or LEDs 170. The on and off switch 125 or sensor 125' for the voice and/or music module 20 and/or for the lights, the LEDs 170, for the moving arrow 180 or for the running light 160 can then be arranged in the head-like element 20, so that the control is then carried out via this.

Fig. 8 shows an embodiment in which the doormat 10 consists of a flat cut-out 10' in the form of an animal body 19 with outstretched hind legs or paws, whereby the head-like element 20 is adapted to an animal shape that is reproduced by the doormat cut-out 10'. For example, the doormat can correspond to the shape of a bear, whereby the bear body is formed in a flat shape in the form of the cut-out 10', while the bear head 20 can have a plastic design.

In the transition area of the doormat 10 to the head-like element 20, if the doormat is designed like an animal body, a collar 25 with a fastening strap 26 can be provided according to Fig. 8 in order to secure the doormat against theft.

The running light 160 formed in the doormat 10 can, for example, be designed as an advertising medium.

A loudspeaker 130, which is integrated into the floor mat 10 or into the head-like element 20, is connected to the speech and/or music module 120 for the reproduction of words and music.

The head-like element 20 and also the overall design of the doormat 10, in particular according to Fig. 8, is not limited to the shape of a bear, for example, but any other animal shape can also be used as a model for the production of the doormat 10 with its head-like element 20. However, the head-like element 20 does not have to have an animal shape, but human-shaped heads corresponding to doll heads can also be connected to the doormat surface.

The doormat 10 can have any shape. The doormat can have the shape of a Coke bottle, an Easter bunny, a vehicle with wheels, the heads of football players or politicians or an animal shape, e.g. a head with a tail. The doormat can also be designed as a logo or a number in any size and even in an oversize.

In or on or under or next to the doormat 10, additional contacts of any kind can be integrated and arranged, e.g. in the head that resembles or corresponds to a person or animal head or externally, as a substitute, e.g. for a bell. This means that if the doormat 10 is

stepping on or touching the doormat or when a person walks past it, i.e. when any type of contact is made, the voice and/or music module emits sounds such as the growling of a bear, the roaring of a lion, the honking of a vehicle, engine noises or similar, so that these sounds inform the homeowner that someone is at the door. Furthermore, when the sounds are triggered, a repelling effect for animals such as dogs or cats can be achieved in order to prevent animals from settling on the doormat.

External contact, e.g. underneath the doormat and not connected to the doormat, can also be provided to trigger the voice and/or music module. All sounds, speech or music can also be transmitted wirelessly from the doormat 10 into the apartment as a so-called bell. Playback devices arranged in the apartment can be connected to the voice and/or music module on the doormat 10 via contact connections. The euro symbol with yellow stars and a blue background can also be reproduced on the doormat in the form of LEDs that light up when the doormat 10 is stepped on, whereby the individual stars can be designed to correspond to the moving light arrow and set in a rotating movement.

Fig. 11 shows an alternative preferred embodiment of a floor mat, which has a microcomputer 210, for example in the form of a microprocessor, as a central control unit. All components that may be present, such as on/off switches 125, 155, sensors 125', 155', the

In a preferred development of the invention, a communication device, such as an infrared interface (IR interface) 212, is also provided, which is also controlled and read by the microcomputer 210. The microcomputer 210 can communicate with external devices via this IR interface. For example, it is possible to write to the memory for language vocabulary or light patterns of the microcomputer 210, to connect external sensors for triggering a voice output or a light effect, such as motion detectors or light barriers, to the microcomputer 210, or to control a correspondingly synchronized animation of corresponding elements of the two floor mats via communication between IR interfaces of different floor mats.

In a further preferred development of the invention, parts that can be moved by micromotors (servos) 214 via a rod 216 are arranged on the floor mat 10, such as the ears or mouth of an animal head 20 arranged on the floor mat 10 (see Fig. 7, 8). These micromotors 214 are also controlled by the microcomputer 210.

Doormat according to one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that that the lights and light-emitting diodes (170), the moving light arrow (180) or the lights and light-emitting diodes (165) of the rotating running light (160) emit white light or colored light. 25 15.
