Abstract

The glow plug comprises a fixing bush (62) and a capsule (20) provided with a tubular housing (22) from which a sheath element (24) containing a heating resistor (26) may project. The fixing bush and the capsule are two separate components. The sheath element (24) is filled with an insulating powder, e.g. magnesium oxide, and contains a spiral electric resistor (26) whose lower end is welded to the sheath element. An electrical power supply (40) is connected to the top of the glow plug.

Claims (8)

1. Glühkerze für Dieselmotoren die umfasst:
einen Körper (22, 62) aus Metall mit einem Gewindeabschnitt (64), der in einen Gewindeabschnitt (18) eines Motorkopfes (14) eingreift,
ein Mantelelement (24) aus Metall, das von einem Ende des Körpers (22, 62) vor­ steht, und
einen Heizwiderstand (26), der sich in dem Mantelelement (24) erstreckt und ein erstes Ende aufweist, das mit einem Spannungsversorgungselement (40) verbun­ den ist, das sich durch den Körper (62, 22) hindurch erstreckt, und ein zweites En­ de, das elektrisch mit dem Mantelelement (24) verbunden ist,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Körper in zwei separate Teile unterteilt ist, wobei ein erstes (22) derselben an dem Mantelelement (24) befestigt ist, und ein zweites (63) derselben einen Gewindeabschnitt (64) aufweist.1. Glow plug for diesel engines which includes:
