Die Kofferraumabdeckung besitzt eine brettförmige Ablage 3, welche aus hartem Material, insbesondere Kunststoff, besteht. Die brettförmige Ablage ist zweiteilig ausgebildet und weist ein Oberteil 6 und ein Unterteil 7 auf. Das Unterteil 6 und das Oberteil 7 sind im Bereich der Vorderkante der Ablage 3 gelenkig in einer Anlenkstelle 14 (Fig. 5) miteinander verbunden. In der in den Figuren 1 und 2 dargestellten geöffneten Position der Ablage 3 können Gegenstände in die Hohlräume 8 und 9 eingelegt werden oder aus diesen Hohlräumen entnommen werden. Die geöffnete Stellung wird dadurch aufrecht erhalten, daß das Oberteil 6 über die Verbindungsmittel 11 und 12 an der hochgeklappten Heckklappe 1 in der hochgeklappten Stellung gehalten wird. Beim Herunterklappen der Heckklappe 1 um einen relativ geringen Schwenkwinkel kommt das Oberteil 6 wieder in Auflage mit dem Unterteil 7, und der Verschluß 10 kann geschlossen werden, so daß die Ablage 3 wieder in die in der Fig. 3 dargestellte Position kommt.
