Kites with rotating parts are becoming increasingly popular. They are available with rigid wings in which rotating parts are incorporated, but also with rotating wings. The latter generally require additional devices to stabilize them so that they can fly stably in different wind strengths. These can be located outside the rotor (eg DE 4405 620) or integrated into the rotor itself (EP 0 261 753).
The invention is based on the problem of creating a kite with rotating wings which, apart from a fastening rod and a bridle line, does not require any stabilising parts and yet flies safely in a wide range of wind strengths.

Figur 6: Ansicht der einzelnen Flächen des RotationskörpersThis problem is solved by a rotating body with wings, the surfaces of which act as a lifting or stabilizing surface depending on their position in relation to the wind. Due to the rotation, each surface acts as a lifting surface and a stabilizing surface (protection claim 1). To balance out rotational forces, the kite consists of an odd number of rotating bodies that rotate in different directions (protection claims 3 and 4).
An embodiment is explained using figures 1-6.

Figure 3: Overall view of the kite from below
Figure 4: View of a rotating body from the front
Figure 5: View of a rotating body from the side
Figure 6: View of the individual surfaces of the rotation body
The body of rotation consists of 2 surfaces that are perpendicular to one another (Figure 6) and are braced against one another at points A and B. This creates a body of rotation with surfaces that are curved on one side (Figures 4 and 5) (claim 2). While one surface (e.g. F) is horizontal and provides the lift, the other surface (G) is vertical and acts as a stabilizing keel. The rotation of the body, which is caused by the curvature of the surfaces, causes the surfaces to alternate their functions.
In the example, 3 such rotating bodies are attached to the axis C, one end of which is angled, and are connected to the holding line E via the balance cord D (Fig. 1 - 3). The opposite rotation of the central rotating body prevents the individual bodies from deviating from the direction of the wind and thus preventing unstable flight.
