Tool for using dies

Commercially available tools for using threading dies, in particular so-called tap wrenches, which are used in handicrafts for example to produce small quantities of threads in holes or on bolts, consist mainly of a clamping device into which the corresponding threading die is to be clamped, as well as lever-like handles for the purpose of transferring force from the person to the threading die.

However, these tap wrenches are very limited in their application, since, particularly in the case of taps for external threads, several tap wrenches are required for a complete set of taps due to the different diameters of the cutting tools. This is uneconomical for cost reasons, especially for private individuals.

In addition, the lever-like handles are a nuisance when it comes to attaching a thread in hard-to-reach places.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a tool that allows the use of several types and sizes of dies, as well as ensuring the range of use of commercially available dies at reduced acquisition costs.

This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1.

The invention achieves that, by means of various adapters to be attached to the pipe, a tool is created for the use of various types and sizes of cutting dies.

The distance achieved between the die and the lever-like handle enables access to hard-to-reach places. The tubular design of the tool is particularly advantageous when cutting external threads, as the thread, which increases in length during the cutting process, can move inside the pipe relative to the cutting direction.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is specified in claim 3.

The design of an adapter according to claim 3 for use with dies for external threads enables external threads to be cut using a drilling machine.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained using the figure. It shows:

In the variant of the tool shown in the figure, the ends of the

The adapter pieces 2, 3, 5 have a suitable diameter on the side facing the pipe 1, as well as blind holes on the diameter. This means that the adapter pieces can be inserted with little play and can be connected to the pipe in a form-fitting and force-fitting manner using the clamping screws. The figure shows how the adapter 3 for the die and the lever handle adapter 2 are to be arranged on the pipe.
