Claims (8)

1. Beschichteter Schneideinsatz oder Schneideinsatzrohling zur Beschichtung aus einer Gasphase mit einer Spanfläche und einer hierzu im wesentlichen parallelen Auflagefläche sowie einer von der Spanfläche (11) bis zur Auflageflä­ che (12) durchgehenden Durchbrechung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Durchbrechung ein Querschnittsprofil aufweist, bei dem der größtmögliche einbeschriebene Kreis (43) einen Durchmesser besitzt, der ≦ 0,2 × TC oder ≦ 1,5 mm, vor­ zugsweise 1 mm ist, wobei IC der Innenkreisdurchmes­ ser (22) ist.1.
