Allgemein bekannt sind in der Luftführung einer Brennkraftmaschine flexible Luftschläuche, diese haben die Aufgabe, zwischen motorfesten und fahrzeugfesten Teilen ein flexible Verbindung herzustellen. Die Falten eines derartigen Schlauches müssen dabei Relativbewegungen zwischen Motor und Karosserie aufnehmen können, d. h. sie müssen sich quer und längs verformen können. Schlauchleitungen dieser Art sind zum Beispiel in MTZ Motortechnische Zeitschrift 45 (1984 ) 12, Seite 532 beschrieben.Flexible air hoses are well known in the air duct of an internal combustion engine.
