Bisher blieb nach dem Druckvorgang, z.B. bei Papier, ein weißer Rand, weil die Tintenpatronen bzw. Tonerkartuschen das Format weder in der Höhe noch in der Breite voll nutzen konnten. Aus technischen Gründen mußte ein unbedruckter Rand bleiben, damit das Papier bzw. die Folie von den Druckpatronen während des Druckvorgangs seitlich nicht angehoben, geduckt und beschädigt wurde. Ein Ausdrucken bis zum Anschnitt, wie gewerbliche Druckereien ihn bieten, weil diese eben das vorher überformatige Papier nach den Druck auf das Endformat (z.B.
