State of the art and description:

Since the introduction of spray cooling on hand-held contra-angles and turbines, the disinfection of the interior of the air and water channels has been a hygiene problem. Preventing the "back-suction effect" on treatment units is a logical measure, but it does not guarantee internal contamination of the spray-carrying channels.

Only flushing with fast-acting disinfectants brings the solution. Thermal disinfection or autoclaving with prior internal cleaning is a future, very complex development!!

The majority of hygiene users (98%) ignore the "internal disinfection" of mangeis devices: a weak point in the hygiene chain!

The perfect disinfection of the transmission instruments includes the following
Work steps:

1.) Thorough external cleaning

2.) internal spray flushing on the treatment device

3.) Internal disinfection flushing with special approaches

4.) Thorough external spray or wipe disinfection

Flushing (point 3) is possible using the newly developed attachable special attachments
for spray atomizers in seconds and thus the hygiene gap
closed! The effort, both in terms of time and money
is extremely low and does not require any system changes.

Claims (4)

Claims: Attachable special attachments for spray atomizers for flushing and disinfecting the water and air channels on dental transmission instruments, characterized in that: 1.) An attachment (Pos.3, Fig.:2) that can be screwed onto the nozzle holder (Pos.1, Fig.:2) of a commercially available spray atomizer with seal (O-ring) (Pos.2, Fig.:2) with external cone (Pos.5, Fig.:2) and seal (O-ring) (Pos.4, Fig.:2) as well as outlet opening (Pos.6, Fig.:2) allows a quick change of the various special attachments. 2.) Various rinsing attachments (item 7, Fig.:2) with an inner cone (item 5, Fig.:2) can be tightly attached to the attachment piece (Fig.:i). 3.) Special flushing attachments with double seals (two O-rings) (item 9, fig. 2) each suitable for ISO connections on hand-angle pieces seal the drive shaft and form a ring channel that includes the inlet opening of the spray channels. The same applies to the interchangeable rinsing attachments for use with turbine drives, although due to the lack of standardization, attention must be paid to the structure of the spray system. 4.) The channel system of the various rinsing attachments allows the disinfectant to pass from the outlet opening in the rinsing attachment (item n, Fig.:2) of the spray atomizer to the inlet openings of the water and air channels within the transmission instruments without the disinfectant getting into the drive parts. There is nothing to prevent the drive parts from being oiled after internal disinfection.
