Die Erfindung betrifft ein Abschlußprofil, welches auf die äußeren Kanten (Ränder) von Glasscheiben gesetzt wird und einen annähernd U-förmigen Bereich zur Aufnahme der Glasscheibe aufweist. Ein besonderes Anwendungsgebiet für derlei Abschlußprofile ist der Bereich von Ganzglasduschen. Jedoch ist das Anwendungsgebiet solcher Abschlußprofile nicht einzig und allein auf Duschen begrenzt, sondern kann auch im Bereich von Schiebetüren, die manuell bzw. durch motorische Kraft angetrieben werden, eingesetzt werden. Hierzu zählen auch Türen von Aufzügen. Das in der Figur 1 dargestellte Ausführungsbeispiel zeigt eine Glasscheibe 14 mit aufgesetztem Abschlußprofil 1. Dabei wird das Abschlußprofil 1 auf die Glasscheibe 14 aufgeklemmt und durch seine Schenkel 3, 4, die die Aufnahmevertiefung 2 begrenzen, auf der Glasscheibe 14 gehalten. Die beiden Schenkel 3, 4 sind durch eine Wandung 15 verbunden. Im Anschluß an die Wandung 15 befindet sich ein kurzer Schenkel 5 und auf der anderen Seite - in dem Beispiel auf der Seite des Schenkels 4 - ein längerer Schenkel 6. Die beiden Schenkel 5, 6 werden durch eine Abschlußkante 13 miteinander verbunden, wobei die Abschlußkante 13 jedoch durch eine Vertiefung 7 unterbrochen wird. Die Vertiefung 7 setzt sich in das Innere des Profiles fort und verläuft über die gesamte Länge des Profiles. Die Vertiefung 7 weist dabei eine Hinterschneidung 12 auf, um Profile bzw.
