The switch 25.3 leads to the hands-free circuit 25, which, depending on the control, switches on a microphone 25.2 or the voice output unit 18. A loudspeaker 25.1 is connected directly to the hands-free circuit 25.

The event storage unit 23.3 is also activated by the emergency button 12.1. All sounds from the crucial first 20 seconds after the emergency call has been triggered are automatically saved here. This means that vital information is not lost during the connection establishment and can be retrieved by the emergency call center via a tone telegram command if a voice connection is not possible. Normally, after the connection has been established, there is a hands-free connection to the emergency call center for the emergency call trigger.

The hands-free button 12.2 is located next to the emergency button 12.1. This is used to activate the emergency call station 1 via the station controller 11 ("telephone

The emergency call cancellation button 12.6 is also located on the desk surface element 32. This button interrupts an emergency call telegram triggered by incorrect operation of the emergency button 12.1.

The identification function key 12.5 is located above the emergency call cancellation key 12.6. When this key is pressed, only callers who have authorized themselves by entering a code will be connected.

Fig. 3 shows a block diagram of the emergency call amulet 5. A dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) generator 62 and a microphone 59 are arranged on a high frequency transmitter unit 57 via a low frequency unit 60. The microphone can be switched by the controller via a switch 58. The elements 57, 60, 58 and 62 are connected to a controller 51, which is designed as a known computing unit and carries out all control functions. An emergency call button 52, a quartz oscillator 56 and a power supply unit 55 are also connected to the amulet controller. The battery 53 is connected to the power supply unit 55.

When the emergency call button 52 is pressed, a destination address programmed in the emergency call station is dialled. This is primarily the emergency call centre 2 of a social aid organisation or, in the case of private use, the destination address of a relative. The emergency call station is put into operation via the radio connection. Different telephone numbers can be stored for the destination addresses programmed there. If the first telephone number is not reachable or busy, the second telephone number is automatically dialled. If this is also unsuccessful, the cycle starts again. After the telephone connection has been established, an acknowledgement tone is heard and the DTMF telegram is transmitted, which transmits an automatic identification of the patient and the emergency call amulet 5. The emergency call centre 2 can then switch on the hands-free connection by sending a DTMF command to the emergency call station 1 and make voice contact with the patient.
