Saddle cabinet

The invention relates to a saddle cabinet for a horse box, the cabinet body of which has a front wall with doors, a rear wall, side walls, a base plate, a ceiling plate and which is provided with a holder built into the cabinet body for at least one saddle.

Riding saddles are wiped dry after unsaddling and either hung directly on a hanger on the stable box or stored in a tack room. Recently it has also become more and more common to assign ventilated saddle cabinets directly to a horse box .

The task is to specify a saddle cabinet in which one or more horse saddles can be stored in a way that is protected against removal and which practically does not restrict the space available in a stable aisle.

This task is solved by a saddle cabinet of the type mentioned above, which is intended for a horse box and which is characterized by the fact that a feeding trough is embedded in the ceiling panel of the cabinet body .

It has been shown that in practice it is quite possible to use the width of a normal horse box or between the horses' stalls ⁵ * for the installation of a saddle cupboard according to the invention, which thus fulfils a double function, namely to serve the needs of the animal as a feeding and watering trough and to accommodate normal saddles.

¹ ^ The feeding trough is a recessed metal or ceramic basin which is held in the cabinet body.

The feeding trough can be set into the ceiling plate in the middle, flush to the right or left. However, it should ^not be ruled out that it also takes up the entire top of the cabinet body or is placed in the middle of it.

Preferably, the saddle cupboard is divided and accessible from the stable aisle. For this purpose, it is proposed that the saddle cupboard is divided into at least two storage spaces by at least one vertical inner wall arranged parallel to the side walls, preferably into a saddle storage space and a ² ^ utensil storage space.

To jack up the saddle, an L-shaped swivel stand is preferably provided, which is built into the saddle storage space and is hinged to an axis arranged vertically between the base plate and the ceiling plate, so that it can be pulled out of the saddle storage space after being swiveled.

Another advantageous feature is that a heater can be installed underneath the feeding trough in the saddle cupboard, which can heat both the inside of the cupboard body and the contents of the feeding trough.

In Fig. 1, 3 and 4 a saddle cabinet module 100 is shown, the cabinet body 12 of which has a front wall 1 with two doors 2, 2', a rear wall 3, side walls 4, 4', a floor 5 and a ceiling plate 6. The parts are made of shatter-proof material, such as wood or wood with plastic veneer.

A feeding trough 15 is set into the ceiling panel 6, similar to a built-in washbasin. The latter is usually made of ceramic material, plastic, wood or stainless steel. As can be seen, the feeding trough is set into the ceiling panel 6 flush to the right, as seen from the stable aisle. With the help of a vertical inner wall 7 arranged parallel to the side walls 4, 4 ^!, the saddle cabinet is divided into two storage spaces 8 and 18, which in the present case serve as a saddle storage space (8) and an utensil storage space (18). As shown in Fig. 3 and 4, the saddle cabinet 100 is installed with its front wall 1 flush with the front wall 20 of the horse box 40, so that no parts protrude into the stable aisle. Ventilation openings 22 are installed in the doors 2, 2', since it must be avoided that the saddle is stored in a damp, sweaty state in an unventilated room, as this very quickly leads to mildew and a musty smell. In addition to the clothing ventilation through the ventilation slots 22, an electric heater 30 can be installed in the cabinet box, which, with appropriate air flow (not shown), both ventilates the interior of the cabinet and slightly warms the contents of the trough. An additional fan (not shown) can also be installed.

It is also important that the floor plan of the tack cupboard does not reach all the way to the floor. The horses must be given the opportunity to step under the feeding trough with their front hooves so that they can eat and drink undisturbed.

Another embodiment of the saddle cabinet is shown in Fig. 2. This saddle cabinet also has a front wall 1 with doors, a rear wall 3, side walls 4, 4' and a ceiling panel 6, into which a feeding trough 15 is set flush to the right. However, the floor is made slanted downwards from the rear wall 3, so that a slanted wall 13 is created. A space 32 is formed under the resulting slanted wall, into which the horse can enter with its front feet.

In the embodiment according to Fig. 2, the space formed by the ^sloping wall and the other parts of the cabinet body can be divided into several compartments 16, 16"; 17, 17'; 27, 27' by means of several shelves 14. Here too, a compartment is provided for the saddle 10, which is suspended on a swivel arm and can be swung outwards. Ventilation openings 22 are also provided. As can be seen, all parts of the saddle cabinet, in particular the doors and the edges and corners which protrude into the horse box or into the stable aisle, can be rounded so that the risk of injury is minimized.

The saddle cabinet shown in Fig. 1 and 2 also allows for an inside pocket 19 to be fitted in the doors or for holders 23 to be attached to the inside of the ^doors for items such as halters, bridles and the like. Open compartments can also be provided, which can then be fitted with a catch rail or
