Claims

Storage container for a plastic strip consisting of a flexible material and intended for processing in sections of different lengths, wherein the plastic strip is arranged in the container as a roll from which the sections intended for processing are pulled off and separated, characterized by the following features:

a) the storage container (10) is designed as a portable, flat case with a square shape of its large-area boundary walls (19, 22) and a clear distance between these boundary walls (19, 21) that corresponds at least to the width of the strip (11) and is approximately the same;

b) the case (10) is designed to accommodate a strip (11) with a length of at least 40 m, the thickness of the strip being between 1 and 1.5 mm;

c) a transverse slot (34) is provided on at least one of the narrow boundary walls (15 to 18) of the case (10), through which the radially outwardly arranged end section (35) of the plastic strip (11) can be pushed outwards.

2. Storage container according to claim 1, characterized in that the transverse slot (34) is arranged at a distance from the nearest corner of the case which corresponds to between 30% and 60% of the thickness D of the winding (12) of the plastic strip (11) corresponding to the maximum length and compact arrangement of the windings (13).

Storage container according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the width (h) of the outlet slot (34) measured parallel to the longitudinal edges (38, 39) of the boundary surface (16) provided with the transverse slot (34) corresponds to at least 3 times and preferably 7 to 10 times the value of the thickness of the plastic strip (11).

4. Storage container according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that at least one further transverse slot (43) is provided, into which the free end (35) of the plastic strip (11) can be inserted with an orientation directed towards the interior of the case (10).

5. Storage container according to claim 4, characterized in that the further transverse slot (43) and the outlet slot (34) are on the same boundary wall

(16) of the case (10), the distance of the further transverse slot (43) from the transverse edge (37) closest to it being between 40% and 25% of the length of the longitudinal edges (38,39) of the narrow

case wall (16).

6. Storage container according to claim 5, characterized in that the further transverse slot (43) forms the inlet opening of a pocket-shaped insert compartment (44) which preferably extends into the region of the adjacent case corner (37).

7. Storage container according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that one of the two large-area case walls (19, 22) can be pivoted by at least 90° about an axis (23) running along the longitudinal edge with which this large-area boundary wall (19 or 22) adjoins one of the narrow boundary walls (17) of the case (10).

8. Storage container according to claim 7, characterized in that a flat handle (21) is arranged on the narrow boundary wall (15) of the case (10) opposite the pivot axis (23) of the large-area case wall (22), preferably also pivotable about an axis (33) parallel to the pivot axis (23) of the large-area case wall (22), and that this handle (21) can be brought through a longitudinal slot (27) of a free edge section (28) of the pivotable large-area wall part (22) which can be folded on the outside to overlap the narrow case wall (15) carrying the handle (21).

9. Storage container according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the large-surface wall parts (19, 22) (10) are each firmly connected to three narrow wall parts (16, 17, 18) and each have a free edge strip which can be folded towards one another in a mutually overlapping arrangement covering the remaining case opening, one edge strip having a flat handle which can preferably be pivoted about an axis running parallel to the longitudinal edges of the case opening and which can be pushed through a slot in the other foldable edge strip which overlaps the edge strip carrying the handle on the outside.

10. Storage container according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized by its design as a cardboard box assembled from a one-piece blank (46).

11. Storage container according to claim 10, characterized in that at least the areas of the cardboard (46) forming the outer surface are provided with a water-repellent coating.

12. Storage container according to claim 11, characterized in that the coating consists of a water-resistant varnish.

13. Storage container according to one of claims 1 to 9,

characterized by its design as a bag or case that can be assembled from a multi-layer plastic cut-out.

14. Storage container according to claim 13, characterized in that the narrow container walls (16, 17, 18) and/or the large-area boundary walls (19, 22) are reinforced by at least one further plastic material layer.

15. Storage container according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized by its design as a shell case manufactured using injection molding technology.
