Compact wet room for a motorhome, caravan or similar

In mobile homes, caravans, boats or similar, it is necessary to accommodate a wet room in the smallest possible space.

A wet room essentially contains three elements, namely a shower with an associated shower partition, a washbasin arranged in front of the shower and outside the shower partition and a toilet seat also arranged in front of the shower and outside the shower partition.

All three elements should be arranged in the wet room in a way that saves as much space as possible.

In the wet rooms known to date, it was only possible to design the entire floor of the wet room as a continuous floor surface, whereby this floor surface included all parts of the wet room, i.e. the shower, the toilet seat and the washbasin. However, this continuous floor surface had the disadvantage that the entire floor of the wet room was wet with water when showering, which in turn had the disadvantage that if someone wanted to use the toilet, they had to step onto the wet surface of the wet room. The floor of the wet room therefore had to be dried after each shower.

In another known design according to the state of the art, it was known to assign a separate shower tray to the shower, which was intended to ensure that when showering, the water did not come out of the shower tray and wet the floor area of the rest of the washroom, which was set apart from it. The disadvantage of this arrangement, however, was that the shower area was not available to the user when using the washbasin or toilet bowl, because it was a separate floor area which, due to its significant elevation, was spatially so separated from the rest of the floor area of the wet room that it could not be flush with the washroom floor (that is, the rest of the floor area of the wet room, which

(more associated with the washbasin and toilet seat bowl) was usable.

The innovation is therefore based on the task of developing a wet room of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that, with optimal space available, the shower cubicle can be used as a washroom floor when the shower is not in use.

To solve the problem posed, the innovation is characterized by the technical teaching of claim 1.

The key feature of the innovation is that the shower floor, which is assigned to the shower, is essentially only separated from the washroom floor assigned to the other parts of the wet room by a water collecting channel.

The technical teachings given provide the advantage that the shower floor can also be used when using the toilet or the washbasin, provided that the shower partition is open. This has the significant advantage that there is now more space in the wet room, because if you want to use the toilet or the washbasin, you can also use the shower floor when the shower partition is open, which represents a significant amount of space.

The water collecting channel is preferably arranged as an arched channel running through the wet room in the floor between the washroom floor and the shower floor, whereby it is sufficient to design this channel with a depth of about 25 mm and to create a corresponding drainage opening in the area of this water collecting channel.

It is preferred if there are two drainage openings in the area of the water collecting channel. The water drainage openings are preferably located at the front and rear ends of the water collecting channel in order to ensure drainage to at least one side even when the vehicle is tilted.

In a first embodiment of the innovation, it is therefore intended that the shower floor and the washroom floor are at the same height, i.e. they are at the same height throughout and are only separated from each other by the water collecting channel in between.

In another embodiment of the innovation, it is provided that the shower floor is arranged slightly below the level of the washroom floor, with the height difference being in the range of approximately 20 - 30 mm.

This height difference also essentially ensures continuous use of the entire floor area of the entire wet room, especially when the washroom or toilet bowl is in use.

It is preferred if there is a fixed partition between the washroom and the shower room, i.e. a partition consisting of foldable partition wings, with the partition being divided in the middle so that an opening partition wing is formed on the left and right, which consists of several partition parts connected to one another in a hinge-like manner.

In another embodiment of the innovation, it can be provided to use a shower curtain, a sliding element or several sliding elements instead of the partition wall described, which are therefore not arranged to be foldable but to be slidable relative to one another.

The floor area of the wet room is preferably made of a plastic part, with the entire floor area consisting of a single, continuous deep-drawn part.

In a preferred embodiment, the outline of the wet room is arranged in an approximately rectangular shape, with the door being arranged in the area of a corner, which preferably opens outwards. Of course, the wet room can be designed in any shape.

The only important thing about this innovation is that the floor area between the shower floor and the washroom floor practically merges into one another, so that the two floor areas can be used together and there are no annoying raised edges, drains or the like in between.

When using a partition wall consisting of two partition wings, each of which consists of several foldable parts, it is preferred that when the partition wall is folded open, one of the partition wings covers the shower fitting, so that a self-contained, continuous wall area is created in the shower area, thus ensuring the most generous amount of space possible with an attractive design.

The subject matter of the present innovation arises not only from the subject matter of the individual protection claims, but also from the combination of the individual protection claims with one another.

All information and features disclosed in the documents, including the summary, in particular the spatial configuration shown in the drawings, are claimed as essential to the invention insofar as they are new compared to the prior art, individually or in combination.

The wet room 1 essentially has a rectangular floor plan, with the corner being bevelled in the area of one corner of this rectangle and a door 8 (no longer shown) being arranged there, which opens outwards.

In the interior of the wet room 1, a toilet bowl 9 is arranged in a corner, opposite which is a washbasin 15, in which a drain fitting 16 is located.

A shower arrangement is arranged between the two parts 9, 15, which essentially consists of a shower floor 6, a partition wall 2 and a shower fitting 5 arranged on the wall in the area of the shower floor 6.

The partition wall 2 consists of several foldable elements that are connected to one another in a hinged manner, so that when opened, two partition wall wings 3, 4 are formed, one of which wing 4 covers the shower fitting 5 on the wall of the wet room 1.

Outside the shower floor 6 is the washroom floor 7 on which the toilet bowl 9 and the washbasin 15 are mounted.

It is now important that, according to Figure 1, a water collecting channel 14 is arranged between the washroom floor 7 and the shower floor 6, which is essentially sunk into the floor so that the water generated in the area of the shower floor 6 is drained away from the water

collecting channel 14 and is drained off via drainage openings arranged in the water collecting channel.

In a preferred embodiment, it is provided that the shower floor 6 is arranged slightly below the level of the washroom floor 7, with a height difference of approximately 15 - 25 mm being provided. This height difference still ensures that the floor of the wet room consisting of the two floor parts 6, 7 can be used continuously when the partition wall 2 is opened and the two partition wall wings 3, 4 are swung towards the side wall of the wet room 1.

From Figures 1, 3 and 5 it can be seen that several storage compartments 10, 11, 12 are arranged one above the other above the toilet bowl 9. Furthermore, the flush 13 for the toilet bowl 9 is formed above the storage compartment 11.

According to Figure 5, a mirror cabinet 17 is arranged above the washbasin 15.

In the embodiment shown, it is therefore important that when the partition wall 2 is opened, the entire floor of the wet room is formed by the floor areas 6, 7, which, due to their spatial separation, can only be used continuously through a water collecting channel 14.
