4. Seating furniture according to claim 3, characterized in that the transverse surface (14) of the foot part (4) and the front face (15) of the seat part (1) are flat surfaces.

5. Seating furniture according to claim 4, characterized in that the transverse surface (14) and the front surface (15) extend in an approximately vertical plane in the position of use (d) of the foot part (4).

6. Seating furniture according to at least one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that in the starting position (a) of the foot part (4) the seat part (1) projects slightly beyond the latter towards the front.

7. Seating furniture according to at least one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a foot-part-side bearing block (16) of each pivot joint (12) is located in a recess (17) or depression on the lower side of the foot part (1) in the position of use.

8. Seating furniture according to at least one of claims 1 to 7, characterized by a sliding guide for the foot part (4), which is located on a frame of the seating furniture below the seat part (1) and guides the foot part (4) to approximately its maximum extension position (b).

9. Seating furniture according to at least one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the foot part (4) is adjustable at least in the extension direction (5) by means of a drive.

10. Seating furniture according to claim 9, characterized in that the drive is or has at least one gas pressure spring or the like and the foot part (4) is held in its starting position (a), with the gas pressure spring tensioned, by means of a releasable locking device.

11. Seating furniture according to at least one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the foot part (4) is secured in its position of use (d) against unintentional pivoting back by means of a holding device.

12. Seating furniture according to at least one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that at least the back part (2), the seat part (1) and the foot part (4) are upholstered elements.
