Abstract

The pants are worn both at night and during the day and incorporate electronic components coupled to contact sources for providing an acoustic alarm signal when even a small amount of urine is released. Pref. the contact sources are formed as foil strips or wires applied to a front flap of the pants. They are covered by a removable absorbent insert which may be washable or disposable. The fastening for the pants incorporates a rubber magnet cooperating with a reed switch to close the current circuit for the alarm device, which is operated when the insert becomes wet allowing a current to bridge the wires of foil strips. The pants are designed to allow greater freedom of movement both in and out of bed and to allow the wearer to reach the lavatory in time.
