Abstract

An electrical measurement resistance or sheet for high current applications has two high current connections (10) and two further connections (13) enabling the voltage drop across the sheet to be measured. It is simple and economical to manufacture in terms of both labour and materials and exhibits resistance variations of less than 2 per cent. Both voltage tapping connectors (13) are welded to the resistance section (12) whereas the resistance section and high current connections (10) are part of the resistance material itself. The single part consisting of resistive path (12) and connector regions (11) is stamped and punched into the required configuration. The voltage tapping connectors can be threaded bolts (13) or plugs. Threaded connectors have supporting collars (14). A third current connector may be added to enable a star connection.
