Bei der bisherigen Herstellung von künstlichen Mühlsteinen wurde entweder Sand oder Quarz, Feuerstein, Schmirgel, Karborundum o. dgl. verwendet. Praktische Versuche haben nun gezeigt, daß an Stelle dieser Materialien kornförmiges Porzellan mit großem Vorteil verwendet werden kann. Zu diesem Zwecke wird bis zur gewünschten Korngröße zerkleinertes und gegebenenfalls aus Körnungen verschiedener Größe zusammengesetztes Porzellanmaterial unter Verwendung von bekannten BindestofEen, wie Magnesia, Zement o. dgl., auf kaltem Wege gebunden. Auf diese Weise wird eine vorzügliche Mahlbahn (Mahlfläche) der künstlichen Mühlsteine erreicht, die nie geschärft werden muß und sich insbesondere für Steine zum Auflösen der Grieße eignet.In the previous production of artificial millstones, either sand or Quartz, flint, emery, carborundum or the like are used.
