Dabei ist auch zu beachten, daß solche Menüdosen nach Öffnen unmittelbar zum Erhitzen und Aufbewahren der darin enthaltenen Menüportionen verwendet werden. Zu diesem Zweck kann die geöffnete Dose in entsprechend dafür genormte Vertiefungen von Ausgabe- und/oder Aufheiztheken od. dgl. eingesetzt werden. Der geöffnete und mit dem Inhalt belastete Dosenkörper bedarf somit für eine solche Handhabung einer ausreichenden Verformungsstabilität und Verwindungssteifigkeit. Probleme treten bei solchen Menüdosen auch beim Sterilisieren, auf, da wegen der großen Flächen und der auftretenden Druckänderungen erhebliche Volumenänderungen und Wandverformungen die Folge sind.
