Abstract

The adaptor permits the use of an incandescent lamp (1) with a miniature Edison screw base (E14) in a standard screw (E27) lamp holder (3). The adaptor (2) comprises a standard screw base formed on a hollow bakelite insert. The bore of the insert carries a ring with the small screw thread form, and one electrical contact. The other contact passes through the bakelite base to an external terminal on the standard screw base. To insert a small screw lamp into a standard holder the adaptor is simply screwed onto the lamp, and the assembly then screwed into the holder. On removing the lamp the adaptor remains.
