Man versuchte, die Wirkung der Seifenlösung dadurch zu erhöhen, daß man einem ersten Anstrich mit Seifenlösung einen zweiten Anstrich mit Lösungen von Aluminium, Kalk, Magnesium oder ähnlichen Salzen folgen ließ.
