Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
Das neue Verbandmittel besteht aus einem Stück blattförmigen, in Wellen gelegten Materials von größerer oder geringerer Steifigkeit, welches auf einer oder beiden SeitenThe object of the invention is a bandage, which is used for the production of Support as well as protective bandages are well suited and because of its rollability and lightness can be conveniently carried anywhere. The new bandage consists of a piece of sheet-like material laid in waves of greater or lesser rigidity, which one on one or both sides
ίο mit glattem gewebten Stoff bedeckt ist.ίο is covered with smooth woven fabric.
It is already known to use wooden boards glued onto linen or the like for bandage purposes to be used, which are broken down into rods by making grooves, which are broken by thin Wooden strips are connected to each other, so that the whole thing gets a certain flexibility. From this known bandage material, the new differs in that the Shafts are not completely rigid, as with the former, but are flexible, so that the bandage material possibly used without any feeding and quickly in its use can be tailored to suit any body shape.
· Die Zeichnung stellt das.Verbandmittel in zwei Ausführungsbeispielen dar. Verbandmittel in two embodiments. As a corrugated material serves in the embodiment of Fig. Ι a piece of corrugated cardboard a, which is pasted on one side in a known manner with a flat piece of cardboard b. A piece of starched gauze c is glued to the cardboard b , which gives the whole a sufficient strength against tearing. This material, which can be adapted to almost all parts of the body due to its flexibility, results in a very light bandage, which nevertheless gives the injured part of the body the necessary strength and rest. The possibility of rolling the fabric makes it possible to surround the injured part of the body with a larger or smaller sleeve, which is soft on the inside, so that if there are no skin injuries, further inner protective layers can be dispensed with. In particular, such roll bandages come into consideration for chest injuries and spinal column damage, especially on the neck part. The nature of the material allows a support to be made in a very short time with a few scissors cuts, which, secured by a few gauze bandages, protects the patient from any displacement or jarring of the injured part.
The longitudinal corrugation of the cardboard already provides a high level of security against twisting, when a longitudinally damaged link is to be detected. For even more To increase security, however, thin wires can be passed through all or some of the grooves, Pipe sticks or similar flexible objects are pulled.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the corrugated part of the bandage consists of simple corrugated cardboard a. The corrugated cardboard is covered with gauze d on both sides. Such a bandage can be used to advantage in those cases where there is less need for absolutely secure, firm support.
