Abstract

The plug-socket combination is protected against inadvertent touch of live socket parts. This is apparent by replacing the current carrying connecting fins and contact sockets by contact plates. The connecting of the respective contact plates is carried out by inserting and rotating of the plug. The contact plates in the socket are completely covered. The arrangement may have four cams and a groove for five-pole plug. The plug-socket combination may form an adaptor for conventional plugs to be applied to a new socket.

Description

Task:

With conventional plug / socket combinations, there is a risk that fingers will come into contact with the live parts when reaching in, which repeatedly leads to accidents due to electric shock. Children in particular are exposed to this risk.

It was therefore important to arrange the live parts of the socket in such a way that there are no points of contact even when reaching in.

The solution must be simple and roughly the same as the previous combinations in terms of dimensions.

In addition, there must be the possibility of exchanging the new and old system with one another using spacers.

Description of the solution:

The task was solved by eliminating the conventional pins in the plug and the sockets in the socket and replacing them with

2 cams with contact plates on the connector

and 2 concealed recesses with contact plates in the box.

Figures 1 and 2 show the interaction in an approximate perspective view:

The plug is inserted with the two cams into the corresponding groove of the socket up to the stop, then turned about a quarter turn again up to the end of the guide groove; Touch-safe power plug / socket combination

When you let go of the plug, the spring in the bottom of the socket pushes it upwards into the recess and thus locks into place. This turning and locking is shown in Figure 3.

The current-carrying contact plate of the socket is here at the upper end - the current connection with the contact plate on the cam of the plug is thus established.

The connection is released in reverse order:

The plug is pressed down against the spring pressure, turned to the left up to the groove and pulled out.

The spring in the lower part of the socket is at the same time combined with the socket for receiving the neutral conductor, which goes through the plug as a pin and at the same time serves to screw the two or three individual parts of the plug. (3, 13, 14).

It is crucial that the current-carrying contact points of the socket are in the upper part of the recess and are thus shielded from the interior of the socket. The contact plates can only be detected by the contact plates (6) lying on the cams (7).

Reaching into the can is therefore completely safe.

A detailed execution of the wall mounting parts of the socket and the cable glands was dispensed with here, as they have nothing to do with the claim and are generally known.

Claims (1)

Main claim The touch-safe design is characterized in that the current-carrying connection is not achieved by pins and sockets, but by contact plates; the contact plates are brought together by inserting and rotating the connector. Safety is achieved by completely concealing the contact plates in the socket, as can be seen from the drawing and functional description. Sub-claim 1: Execution as above, but with 4 cams and grooves for 5-pin plug and socket. Sub-claim 2: Adapter from socket / plug old / new and plug / socket old / new as intermediate pieces to connect old plugs with new sockets and vice versa.
