Abstract

Ski, exp. for long-distance runs, has a running surface whose front and rear sections are made of a low-friction plastics, e.g. polyethylene. That section of the running surface beneath the binding (about one-third of the total ski length) is exchangeable. That section is fastened to the main body of the ski rigidly and non-elastically, by means of a "climbing band". Exchangeability of sections of the running surface enables the ski, as claimed, to be used by skiers of various degrees of accomplishment and on slopes of widely different difficulty since its "slip" can be adjusted as desired.
