Der Erfinder stellte sich die Aufgabe, die verschiedenen Theile eines Klaviatur-Musikinstrumentes in ein solches gegenseitiges Verhältnifs zu bringen, wie dasselbe zwischen den Lippen eines Bläsers und den Theilen eines Blasinstrumentes besteht.The inventor set himself the task of finding the different parts of a keyboard musical instrument to bring them into such a mutual relation as that between the lips a wind player and the parts of a wind instrument.

Die Zungen in Abtheilung A können einfach, doppelt oder dreifach sein. Nach Ansicht des Erfinders ermöglichen Zungen, bei denen eine Verbindung von näher dem freien Ende gelegenen Theilen mit solchen, die näher dem Befestigungsorte der Zunge gelegen sind, vorgenommen ist, einen Ton hervorzubringen, welcher dem einer Trompete sehr gleicht. Eine solche Zunge findet nach Grundrifs und Aufrifs in Fig. 3 Veranschaulichung. Erwähnte Verbindung geschieht hier mittelst eines Drahtes a, dessen Enden festgeniethet sind und welcher irgend welche gewünschte oder nothwendige Figur zwischen seinem Anfangs- und Endpunkt beschreibt (s. z. B. Fig. 4, Seiten- und Endansicht, oder Fig. 5, Seitenansicht).The tongues in section A can be single, double, or triple. Auch die Aufbringung eines massiven Blockes genügt zur Erzielung der beabsichtigten Wirkung, eine Modification, welche in Fig. 8, wo χ jenen Block darstellt, angegeben ist.
