Die Munition für die Zielübungspatrone besteht lediglich aus Zündhütchen und Kugel. Die Kugel wird in den glatten oder gezogenen Lauf eingeprefst und das Zündhütchen in die erweiterte Kammer am Ende der Patrone eingesetzt; die Kammer schliefst sich direct an den Lauf an, so dafs der schädliche Zwischenraum zwischen Zündhütchen und Kugel vermieden ist und die Explosion des Hütchens direct auf die Kugel einwirkt.The ammunition for the target training cartridge consists only of a primer and a bullet. Beim Laden wird nun wie folgt verfahren:

Man drückt nun das Patronenende kräftig in den flach liegenden Setzer, wodurch die Kugel in die Züge des Laufes sich einprefst; dann setzt man das Hütchen in die Kammer und ist die Patrone dann schufsfertig. Da die Explosionsrückstände sofort durch den Wischer aus dem Lauf entfernt werden müssen, so stöfst man zugleich das abgeschossene Hütchen aus der Kammer mit dem Wischer heraus.The procedure for loading is as follows:
