Wenn das Erz nicht nafs gemahlen wird, so muis Wasser zugesetzt werden, um einen Brei herzustellen. In diesem Zustande wird die Masse eine halbe Stunde lang in einem geeigneten Gefäfs gekocht; während dieser Zeit werden alle Oxyde in schwefelsaure Oxydule umgewandelt und durch die Flüssigkeit, in welcher sie gekocht worden, in Auflösung erhalten. Die Lösung wird decantirt und aus dem dicken Bodensatz der zurückgebliebene Rest der schwefelsauren Oxydule ausgewaschen.
