Die zur Aufnahme der wirksamen, erfrischende, desinfizierende oder heilkräftige Dämpfe entwickelnden Substanz dienende Tasche α ist vorteilhaft halbmondförmig gestaltet. Der Oberteil der Tasche ist in bekannter Weise aus gasdurchlässigem Material, z. B. Metallgewebe, der Unterteil aber aus einem dichteren und steiferen Material, z. B. gehärtetem Leder, Zelluloid usw., hergestellt. Am äußeren konkaven Rand sind die beiden Teile durch eine lederne Naht α' ο dgl. verbunden, so daß die Tasche vorn dauernd geschlossen ist, während die inneren Ränder die Taschenmündung bilden. Diese Tasche wird von einem Halter b getragen, der zweckmäßig bogenförmig gestaltet ist, um sich dem Kinn besser anzupassen. Der Halter ist aus dem gleichen Material wie der Unterteil der Tasche hergestellt und kann auch mit Durchbrechungen versehen werden. Die Verbindung der Tasche mit dem Halter erfolgt zweckmäßig durch die Befestigung des Unterteiles der Tasche bei der Taschenmündung an dem oberen Rande des Halters. Die Taschenmündung wird durch eine Zunge b' bedeckt, die am freien Rande des Taschenoberteiles befestigt ist, sich an den Halter b anschmiegt und zweckmäßig die Form des Halters besitzt, so daß sie zugleich als Futter für den Halter dient.
