Gemäß einem Teilmerkmal der Erfindung ist zur Erweiterung des Anwendungsbereichs des Systems eine — an sich bekannte — zusätzliche Rundspruchfrequenz vorgesehen. Die Funksprechgeräte der mobilen Systemteilnehmer sind in Ruhestellung auf diese Rundspruchfrequenz geschaltet und werden nach Beendigung jeder Notruf-Verbindung von der Leitstelle auf diese Frequenz zurückgeschaltet. Auf der Rundspruchfrequenz senden die Leitstellen Mitteilungen aus, die an alle oder nur an bestimmte Verkehrsteilnehmer in ihrem Zuständigkeitsbereich gerichtet sind. In solchen Fällen muß eine eindeutige Zuständigkeitszuweisung getroffen werden. Gemäß einem weiteren Teilmerkmal der Erfindung ist dazu jeder Leitstelie eine charakteristische, von den anderen unterschiedene Verzögerungszeit zugeordnet, welche z. B. in der Größenordnung von einigen Sekunden liegt. Innerhalb der Verzögerungszeit wird in der Leitstelle automatisch überwacht, ob eine benachbarte Leitstelle den Notruf beantwortet.
