An dem Stiel α ist ein metallenes Kopfstück b durch Schrauben c c befestigt. An den Bolzen d d des Kopfstückes hängen zwei Scherenbacken e e, die am anderen freien Ende bei / f gezahnt sind. Mittels der beiden Lenker g g sind sie an der Hülse h angehängt, die mit einer Schleppfeder i versehen ist, welche die Hülse h in jeder Lage festhält. Die Enden der Scherenbacken sind bei k k durchbohrt behufs Aufnahme eines Drahtseiles /, an welchem das Wischtuch m hängt. In der in Fig. ι dargestellten Lage wird das Wischtuch zum Überfahren breiter Flächen, wie z. B. der Fußböden, Wände, Fenster, Bilder oder Spiegel benutzt. Um Staub und ' Uneinigkeiten aus den Ecken herausholen zu können, faßt man die Hülse und zieht sie aufwärts, so daß die in Fig. 2 dargestellte Lage entsteht. Die Backen klappen zusammen, das Drahtseil I hängt lose zwischen beiden, und die gezahnten Enden halten das Wischtuch fest. In diese Lage wird das Wischtuch auch gebracht, wenn es ausgewunden werden soll. Dazu benutzt man eine mit einem Handschuh bekleidete Hand, während die zweite frei bleibt, um den Stiel zu halten, so daß beim Auswinden des Wischtuches die Hände mit Nässe und Schmutz überhaupt nicht in Berührung kommen.Fig. 2 shows the wipe kept gathered, Fig. 3 shows a section through the holder,
