Es ist bereits bei Zigarettenmaschinen bekannt, das Papier, Kartonband u. dgl. fortlaufend, ohne Unterbrechung und auch ohne zeitweise Verlangsamung der Bewegung, der Schneidvorrichtung zuzuführen. Die Schere erhält dabei eine hin und her gehende Bewegung parallel zur Bewegungsbahn des Karton- oder Papierbandes, so daß sie bei einer Bewegung in Richtung des nach dem Wickeldorn hin bewegten Bandes eine Bewegungsgeschwindigkeit erlangt, die derjenigen des Bandes selbst entspricht, wobei gleichzeitig der Schnitt herbeigeführt wird, und zwar zu einem Zeitpunkt, wo trotz der Bewegung von Band und Schere die beiden Teile eine relative Bewegung zueinander nicht ausführen. Der Schnitt muß daher, wenn die Schere rechtwinklig zum Bande steht, auch genau im rechten Winkel zu diesem erfolgen. Nachdem das Mundstückpapier in der erforderlichen Länge abgeschnitten worden ist, wird es durch die Schere, die ihre Vorwärtsbewegung noch zu einem gewissen Grade fortsetzt, in die zur weiteren Bearbeitung dienende Vorrichtung usw. hineingeschoben, worauf die Schere ihre Rückwärtsbewegung antritt, um den Arbeitsvorgang zu wiederholen. Das Neue besteht nun darin, daß dieser bekannte, mit dem Papierstreifen mitbewegte Scherenschlitten eine für Mundstückwickelmaschinen geeignete Steuerung und Ausbildung erfährt, die ein tadelloses Wickeln des Mundstückes gewährleistet.
