Diese Masse, welche beispielsweise aus Gelatine bestehen kann, wird nun mit Hilfe beliebiger mechanischer oder anderer Mittel, beispielsweise durch Eintauchen, in der geeigneten Schichtstärke auf die ganze wie vorstehend behandelte Oberfläche des Papierträgers aufgetragen. Hierauf wird dann Emulsionsschicht aufgetragen; nach dem Erstarren schneidet man die Folien in der Mitte der nicht mit Wachs überzogenen Stellen auseinander.
