Aus der DT-OS 17 78 407 ist ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur kontinuierlichen Herstellung von längsgeschlitzten Schaumstoffisolierrohren bekannt, bei dem man die als Innen- und Außenmantel für die Schaumstoffisolierrohre dienenden Materialbahnen in ein mit einem durchgehenden Längsschlitz und einem Formkern versehenen Formrohr einführt und hindurchfördert, wobei man vor deren Eintritt in das Formrohr die Mischungskomponenten zur Erzeugung des Schaumstoffs in die inzwischen quer zur Längsrichtung nach unten durchgewölbte untere Materialbahn einbringt, so daß der flüssige Kunststoff während des Durchlaufs der Materialbahnen durch das Formrohr zwischen diesen aufschäumt und aushärtet. Die den Kunststoff-Außenmantel des Schaum stoffisolierrohres bildende untere Materialbahn muß aus einer sehr stabilen, dehnungsfreien Kunststoffbahn gebildet sein, weil sie gleichzeitig zum Transport des entstehenden Schaumstoffis olierrohres durch das als Formkanal dienende Formrohr notwendig ist. Zu diesem Zweck ragen die Randstreifen der den Außenmantel bildenden unteren Materialbahn aus dem oben mit einem durchgehenden Längsschlitz versehenen Formrohr heraus. Diese herausragenden Randstreifen werden dann von zwei endlosen, parallel zum Längsschlitz des Formrohres verlaufenden Rollenketten erfaßt und mitgezogen; Ohne diese stabile untere Materialbahn und den Transport durch die Rollenketten wäre es unmöglich, das sich bildende Schaumstoffisolierrohr durch das Formrohr zu fördern, da im Inneren des Formrohres durch das Aufschäumen des Kunststoffes so starke Drücke entstehen, die das Schaumstoffisolierrohr am Austritt hindern.
