PATENTAMT,PATENT OFFICE,
In the known processes for bleaching fibrous materials by means of hydrogen peroxide the bleached material is placed in the weakly alkaline, for example ammonia-containing, hydrogen peroxide bath introduced, with the help of lead plates 0 Leave hydrogen peroxide bath so that> the decomposition of the hydrogen peroxide released oxygen can completely penetrate the bleached material.
The known methods now have the disadvantage that a large part of the oxygen released cannot take effect. 15 because the alkali contained in the hydrogen peroxide bath decomposes the hydrogen peroxide extremely easily and thus causes some of the oxygen to escape before the bleached material is in the bath. In addition, when packing the bleached material, the available space is never fully used, so that part of the oxygen released rises between the bleached material and either escapes or attaches itself to the bleached material. Here but. the oxygen in statii k nascendi into or onto the fiber itself exerts its greatest bleaching effect, the i (effect of itself accreting after the emergence of the fiber oxygen is only a small.
On the one hand, these bad conditions require a strong one in order to carry out the bleaching process Hydrogen peroxide content of the bath and, on the other hand, a long one, in some Falling of the bleached goods in the bath for several days.
Finally, if you give the hydrogen peroxide bath additives such. B. water glass, so one only accelerates the decomposition of the hydrogen peroxide, but without that the disadvantage described, namely the escape of anything that does not have a bleaching effect Oxygen, to prevent.
The deficiencies of the previously known methods set out above are now in accordance with The present invention thereby eliminates the use of the bleach bath is not made alkaline by ammonia or the like, but that as a bleaching liquid only used a dilute hydrogen peroxide solution, soaked the bleached material with this solution, then squeezed out and then into a room filled with ammonia vapors is brought. The main difference from the known methods is therefore there in that the alkali, in vapor form, only comes to act on the bleached material after the latter with the Hydrogen peroxide solution has been soaked. By the action of ammonia vapors on the wet fiber there will be a bleaching effect if a comparatively small one is used Amount of dilute hydrogen peroxide solution and achieved in an extremely short time, such as it has not been possible to achieve it with the previously known methods.
Die Ausführung des vorliegenden Verfahrens geschieht in der Weise, daß das vorher ausgekochte Bleichgut mit verdünnter Wasser-The present method is carried out in such a way that the previously boiled Bleach with diluted water
Claims (1)
The duration of the bleaching process depends on the quality of the goods and the desired degree of bleaching; it varies between 20 minutes and 1 hour.
When the oxidation is complete, it is either rinsed immediately, or the bleached material is passed through an acid bath to neutralize it and only then rinsed, washed, blued and dried.
