Die Trommel α ist vor der in der Zeichnung nicht dargestellten Heftmaschine angeordnet und so bemessen, daß eine größere Anzahl Bogenträger auf der inneren Mantelfläche Platz findet und der Hefttisch der Maschine durch die Trommel hindurch bedient werden kann. Die Trommel ist auf Zähnrädern b gelagert und wird der Arbeitsweise . der Heftmaschine entsprechend ruckweise bewegt. Dies kann z. B. durch eine Achse 0 erfolgen, mit der mittelbar ein federnder Zughaken fi verbunden ist, der in den Zahnkranz r eingreifend die Trommel jedesmal um ein bestimmtes Stück dreht. Da die Bogenträger in verschiedener Anzahl und in verschiedenen Abständen in die Trommel eingesetzt werden müssen, ist der Zughaken p an einem Kurbelarm ο. dgl. so verstellbar gemacht, daß der Weg des Hakens entsprechend der erforderlichen Teildrehung der Trommel größer oder kleiner wird, indem der Haken mehr oder weniger Zähne der Trommel überspringt, ehe er wieder eingreift. Die Bogenstapelträger können von beliebiger Bauart sein. In dem Ausführungsbeispiel bestehen sie aus einem Gehäuse c von dreieckigem Querschnitt mit einem dachartigen Deckel d, der durch eine Schraubenfeder e auf den Bogenstapel f gepreßt wird und das Herausfallen der Bogen bei der Drehung der Trommel verhindert. Der Deckel d wird bei seiner Auf- und Abbewegung durch die Stifte g und h geführt, wobei der letztere gleichzeitig als Anschlag für die Bogen dient. Mittels der Nase i soll der Deckel d gelüftet und die Pressung der Bogen für kurze Zeit aufgehoben werden, wenn der oberste Bogen eines Stapels abgezogen wird. Das Anheben des Deckels erfolgt dadurch, daß die Nase i über eine Leitschiene k geführt wird. Die Befestigung der einzelnen Bogenträger geschieht mittels Flügelschrauben m in den Schlitzen η der Trommel.
