Abstract

The alloy contains essentially the following elements, whose content is expressed as a weight percentage: carbon: 0.025 to 0.15%, manganese: 6 to 12%, silicon: 0.2 to 2%, nickel: 5 to 8%, chromium 17 to 20%, molybdenum: 0.01 to 0.5% and nitrogen: 0.12 to 0.3%, the remainder consisting of iron and various elements in trace form. The alloy is applied to the production, by gravity moulding and centrifuging, of thick articles exhibiting high physical and mechanical characteristics throughout the bulk of the article, and especially a high elasticity modulus.
