Die Erfindung betrifft ein Gürtelschloß, bei dem das freie Ende des Gürtelbandes durch Einklemmung festgehalten wird. Bei bekannten Gürtelschlössern wird eine Einklemmung des Bandes in der Weise erreicht, daß das Band, eine eng gezogene Schlinge bildend, um quergerichtete Kanten des Schlosses oder an demselben befestigte Stäbchen herumgelegt wird. Bei diesen Schlössern leidet das Material des Gürtelbandes zufolge der wechselnden Verbiegungen, die es bei Einstellung auf verschiedene Weite erfahren muß. Außerdem wird die Außenfläche des Bandes zufolge der Reibung an den Kanten des Schlosses bald unansehnlich. Von diesen bekannten Schlössern unterscheidet sich das Schloß nach der Erfindung dadurch, daß hier nicht die Elastizität des Bandes für die Erzielung eines Klemmschlusses nutzbar gemacht wird, sondern daß zwischen den beiden zweckmäßig gelenkig miteinander verbundenen Platten, zwischen denen das freie Ende des Gürtelbandes eingeklemmt werden soll, ein zusammendrückbarer Teil (Gummischeibe oder Blattfeder o. dgl.) eingelegt wird. Durch die Zusammendrückung, welche dieser Teil beim Zusammenpressen der beiden Platten erfährt, wird ein sicherer Reibungsschluß ohne die geringste Beanspruchung oder Formänderung des Materials des Gürtelbandes erzielt.
