Abstract

The simplified audio magnetic tape recording head position adjustment mechanism consists of a carrier plate mounted on two spring loaded adjustable pedestals. Three adjustable columns or pedestals are used to carry two carrier plates in this case. The simplified mechanism has only one head carrier or chassis plate (4) mounted by adjustable screws (5, 6) on two pedestal columns (2, 3). One of these carries an outer tube (7) with a spring mounted base (9) whilst the other is spring loaded (8) directly between the chassis (1) and carrier plate (4). The angular position of the head (10) and its displacement from the tape (12) can both easily be adjusted by means of arrangement.
